Hi all,
Ive only owned older early 1980s vans and after a break of a few years I am in the market for a used van, looking to spend $30-40k.
Ive been looking for 2-3 months and 80% of vans Ive viewed have visual water damage in the van, usually at the front inside walls and floor. The owners are mostly oblivious when I point it out to them. Vans Ive viewed have been built from 2010 onwards.
From this experience, it seems modern vans have a terrible build quality. Am I best persisting in finding a good modern used van or are vans from the 90s and early 2000s of a better build quality?
Our van is kept undercover, except when in use. Has a Front window that I like ( dining area at the front of the van) and a front opening boot. Both these openings can create water damage.
Mate has a 19ft concept with no front window and I think you can get options with a tunnel boot, so minimal front water damage potential. Other brands would have similar.
