Have a 110 amph Lithium Battery that has either gone flat or is kaput.
Am in Adelaide for a few weeks wondering if anybody has a Lithium charger they would be willing to put my battery on.
I will purchase a lithium charger if battery charges.
Have tried on my Projecta charger on Gel setting but charger flashes red and will not charge.

Some Lithium battery packs have a safe mode they go into when discharged very low. I believe that you can wake the battery back up but first you must unhook all charging devises then if you hook portable solar to it and once it starts charging again hook your Projecta back up then unhook the solar and it will continue to charge.
I read this somewhere however it may be worth a try, perhaps you can google this and learn more or another poster may know.

That will depend entirely on the particular BMS, and there are hundreds of different ones.
Any battery charger that delivers the appropriate voltage profiles (or is user configurable) is suitable for charging lithium batteries.
I suggest you consult the supplier.

This is always the best option, if you don't have the user manual for the battery, as suggested all BMS's should disconnect if the battery goes to low, many turn back on by themselves, however some don't, some just require you to disconnect the battery for a minute then reconnect and charge while some require you press a button on the battery after it's disconnected.
This would all be explained in a manual, by the supplier or you could google/youtube it.

Have had battery on lithium charger for 24hrs.Went through cycle and showed in storage mode.
Disconnected charger and checked voltage which showed 10.1 v.
My impression is battery is kaput.

Brand name is Power Lithium.
It was in the van when we purchased it it in Nov 2020
Have sent a message to previous owner when it was purchased as yet no reply. There is no puchase date on battery.
Have travelled some rough roads since purchase .

A Victron 100AH lithium battery is 15kg. So 110AH would be about 16.5kg.
Your battery is about 80% of the weight. So something is missing.
Before you bin it you may as well open it up & see if there is anything you can do & for the benefit of everyone so we don't get ripped off, post some internal photos in the teardown thread.

I was going to say 15kg seems on the heavy side but if it has winston or similar then yeah that's probably about right, but the weight does not really reflect the quality, you can have a good quality battery that weighs not much more than 10 or 11 kg, my 105Ah cells from China only weigh just under 2kg each so under 8 kg for the 4 so add 3kg for a case wire and BMS and it's still only 11kg.
I was also going to suggest to cut the top off, but I would never recommend anyone doing so that might not be familiar with the safety aspect
My guess is it's made with 28/+ cells so either some spot welds have broken, dead cells or BMS, given it sitting at 10.1v thats classed as 100% discharged, but if the BMS is faulty then it could be any voltage upto 100% full, but either way if care was taken getting the top off, it could be easily fixed and then put into another case. I recently broke open an old laptop battery that wouldn't hold a charge, only to find the batteries in perfect condition once charged on my 4 cell charger, I assume the BMS was fffff broken.

I buy from both of these online shops, and on many occasions have asked for refunds, I figure why should I pay a high price for something from an Aust online store if I can buy it much cheaper from the same place they do in China lol

It need s a kick start, the supplier should be able to do thing and don't charge it set to Gel unless the Charge states to use that setting.
I am pretty certain a battery Charger on the market will have the feature required.

Got in touch with Terry and he was extremly helpfull. He tried a few different things over the w/end to bring battery back to life but it was kaput. My thanks to him if i am in the area with battery problems will seek him out again. Doddo.

Thanks for giving us a reply, and posting those pics, even if it was not good for you As suspected that battery is composed of lots of small round cells assembled in series/parallel to give the capacity and voltage to look like what I would call a proper battery. I would not be happy to find I had that, after I shelled out good money. Too many connections and individual parts to be really reliable IMHO.
Lithium batteries are an emerging technology and the consumers are paying for the development and R&D as they go.

Before buying a lithium battery it may be prudent to ask the seller how many cells it contains, perhaps asking them to state that number on the receipt and/or in e-mail?
Personally, if it contains more than four I'd walk away.
