Once the 3000 Queenslands are allowed to cross the border back to their homes after spending 2 weeks in quarantine things will look a bit better.

Do you mean hotel quarantine and I believe according to QLD police its is 8900 pending readmission, its a disgrace I am a nurse with no employment or primary residence I can access.

If your pass is now torn up, I suspect you will have to restart the process. Having an approved pass is the only legal way to currently enter the state I suspect.
Other than that, and with many current residents unable to get back to their homes, I think you will just need to wait until the border becomes less restrictive.
I certainly dont see Qld being more lenient to access for relocatees compared to residents, and neither should they be.

If your pass has been torn up maybe you should turn around and go back where you came from and wait until the border opens again

Can I suggest, if they have torn it up, its for a reason!
Contact the authorities and find out what is necessary, obviously your original pass was INCORRECT!
If its not possible "at the moment" to relocate, you will just have to sit it out.
Just do the right thing

I do sympathise with those who cant get back to their home in Queensland. Unfortunately you are at the mercy of the inept Qld health and associated bureaucrats. I wonder how many Qld health bureaucrats work late at night to clear the backlog. It appears to be OK to let the NRL players and hangers on get priority to come into the state but not OK for those living in Qld to be stuck on the other side of the border.

I don't get it that people doing nothing of any resemblance of substance for society are welcomed in & all the government can do is ask if this state suite is large enough to encourage them to come.
While nurses who are keeping the country functioning are put our with the garbage.
Ask your accountant if you can claim accommodation away from home between two places of work for an extended period. At least then you could reduce tax a bit.
Failing that, grab a chair, food, drink, book & sit in front of the local members political office with a polite sign with your predicament.

Deb,
Don't hold your breath while our "Princess" is holding the purse/control strings! Unless you're famous, rich, a great sportsperson, sports team, you've got Buckley's!
AND DON'T THINK YOU CAN SNEAK THROUGH - the communities don't like cheats & the fines are substantial!
Why would you want to come here anyway? There were 10 cars stolen by kids on Sunday night .
We're wanting to go the Canberra for Christmas (this year, we hope) - getting there isn't the issue, coming back home is!

Well are you having a bad day ,I am not trying to do the wrong thing Ian if going home is wrong then apologies. The permit was issued by the Queensland government based on CORRECT info however the QLD police stated that there was no way I could transit through a red zone in 2 hours.
Take a big breath and stay safe.

I suspect border controls will become more strict now that the new NSW premier is prepared to accept a surge in the name of economics. Anna is still concerned about peoples lives, thankfully, and the cancellation of Schoolies on the Gold Coast is an indication that border control is not likely to change soon. Perhaps it would be useful to try again, now, having overcome what ever caused the Police to deny you entry.

I agree,
just looking around my suburb the last week, basically no masks, but government rules haven't changed one iota. Give it 3 or 4 weeks & hospitals will be in a proper mess.
So unfortunately I think you need to aim for the long haul, not that we haven't done enough do far, & hope for a shorter timeframe.
Sorry, but better that things can only look better from the utter dispair perspective.

As I have mentioned, have a word with your accountant for travel & work related travel expenses.
As Kerry Packer said only a fool pays a cent more taxthan he has to.

Red zones are the issue - I wanted to go home (Tassie) to see my mum (terminal lung cancer) but then they had an active case and it was put on the backburner. I have no other residence than QLD, work in Aged Care as a casual employee, so if I go, I can't get back and I can't earn, even though I am double vaxxed. I had to go home from where I was working in remote WA last year for my son's passing (it was sudden and as next of kin, there was stuff to be done) - barely got back in there and still had to take another 2 weeks off - without pay. I got across the NT/QLD border with 12 hours to spare moving across (legally - it was all legal, the borders locked 12 hours after I crossed and there were no isolation orders relevant to me - thankfully!).
It sucks, and I do feel for you, but at present there's not a lot can be done. If there are red zones, no-one moves.

As it is difficult to get a caravan onto a plane your only option is to wait until 17th December, unless our dictator changes her mind. (Providing you are double vaxxed)

unfortunately it seems that the inept Qld health and the Qld police are not co=ordinating. Qld Health says one thing and Qld Police say another. What a freaking mess. Come on Palachook, fix it up as it seems the schoolgirl who masquerades as a Health Minister is unable to fix this.

I would have thought you would have counted as an essential worker, you would if you were a coal minor, or a politician.
It seems ridiculous that soon it's going to be easier to go overseas than interstate.
I hope you find a relaxing place to hole up till you can get to where you are going.
