I recently added 2maxtrax to the roof of my car and I just got back from my 1st trip with them (used them to get someone else out of being bogged in the sand) and now the alarm on my car keeps going off. I've never had trouble before and it's pretty windy out there so I'm thinking (hoping) it's the extra wind resistance of the tracks being on the roof.
I will take them off and see what happens (although the bracket will have to stay on).
I just wondered if anyone else had, had the same problem, funny the awning never set the alarm off though

My memory banks may not be working properly, but somehow I recall a friend had trouble with his car alarm activating more frequently when his car's battery started getting low. I might be wrong with that, though.

My old alarm on the landcruiser had a motion sensor function available on it. It believe it was turned off. If yours does have that function and big gusts of winds rock the car with the maxtracks on it is possible it could set it off. But how much wind is being caught by the maxtracks . But it can also happen with a low volt battery. Does it go off after you cancel/reset it? Next time it goes off test your battery voltage.
