Can any one direct me to the area dealing with how is the best way to handle solid human waste when free camping. We have a portaloo but but after a few days cleaning out the smell I would think could be a problem. Checked under several common names for it but found nothing to help
Thanks all

Obviously use dump sites.
But if not available I bury it.
At least 100 yards from water and about 12 inches deep. And we'll away from any camps.

So it's a portable toilet with top and bottom tanks?
Two parts to your question .... getting rid of the waste and keeping the smell down. If you are remote, do as oldbloke says, otherwise drive to a location where there is a dumpsite. You can also buy another tank and swap, or decant into a drum.
For the second part of your question, the best product to use is Sodium Percarbonate in the lower tank. It is the active ingredient in laundry soakers. The no name products are usually better than the big brands and a third the price. Also available in more pure form from home brew supplies. It is a lot better for the environment than chemicals.
Do a search on Percarbonate. You will find many discussions on here. Try this one for starters.
Always plant the spade a bit in front of you. After bent knees for a minute or so, you have something to help pull yourself back up!

You are a strange kettle of fish WAWT !! usually some of the most offbeat answers to legit questions, but this one takes the cake.
Just use the Dump point Pam/Chris.

What I did when I was remote camping far, far away from a dump point
1. As Peter & Margaret have shown, and Oldbloke has said, dig a hole
2. After empting the cassette, put about 2 litres of water in, swish around, and empty again
3. As Arewelost has said, use sodium percarbonate
In one supermarket it is called Vanish? In another it is called Napisan, just make sure it is around 33%
4. In a 15 litre cassette, I add a capful (75 ml) of Napisan, and 1 litre of water. This seems to keep the smell down
5. After I use the cassette, I put a bit of water over the slide (seal), this helps to keep the smell inside the cassette
Hope this is useful to others

If your waste is solid then you need to seek medical help.

About as often as the same question is asked.
It might be full by now? Might be able to find a different hole if you are sick of that one.
Cheers,
Peter

Sodium Percarbonate.
(Quote). A couple of things I have learned lately:
A heaped desert spoonful in 500ml of water is about the right concentration for a cleaning and sanitising solution. Best to dissolve SP in very hot (boiling) water. The active properties of a SP solution last for about 5-6 hours. If using SP in your Porta Pottie, mix and immediately add to the latest deposit in the PP cassette. You can get an extra use out of the fresh solution if you rinse your Pee bottle, then dose the PP cassette with the rinse of the Pee Bottle. Putting SP in a PP Flush Tank is a waste of SP if the solution sits for more than the 5-6 hours. If dumping a SP treated cassette in a septic system, ensure the cassette has sat at least the mentioned 5-6 hours and the cassette contents will be Septic Safe.
Best sanitising results come when the SP solution dries in place on the surfaces treated or rinsed.
Adjust the size of the dose if using Generic Nappy San type products because the percentage of SP in those products can be as low as 25% of the package contents.(Unquote).
I can add that Olive Oil on the cassette seal is a good way to keep the seal in good condition. My PP seals so well that I need to burp it before use on hot days lest I get a nasty surprise when releasing the slide.
