Hello all,
Has anyone with a Windsor Seka Pop Top changed their 3 way Dometic fridge to a VitriFrigo 150i compressor unit?
We are having a cooling system blockage in the Dometic for the second time and seeing as we will not be using the caravan for free camping we feel a compressor unit is the way to go.
Please let us know where, what and how you have changed your fridge.

Jan 2016, I replaced our 3 way with a Samsung digital inverter 228 ltr household fridge, it runs off a victron 350va inverter when 240v is unavailable, total expenditure for the conversion under $800.
Some of the problems we encountered, was getting the 3 way out, its too wide to go out the door, so we had to minor surgery to the largest windows in the van together it out.
New fridge fitted easily through the entry door, If we were buying a new van today we have a 300ltr DI Fridge fitted along with a DI split system AC.
Caravan manufactures rely on expensive old technology equipment,ie a 12/24v 218 ltr fridge retails at approximately $2600 compared to a normal 300 ltr fridge for under $1000,just to sweeten the pot my 228ltr fridge consumes 65ah per day and with solar support my 7 year old AGM is still ok.
we have a Quest van when we got it the fridge was buggered it was a 3 way but inside was yucky.......we now have a bar fridge and as we only do van parks its great for us ......the drinks i put on ice as its the fastest way to get the beer cold ......oh and the fridge that came out was through the door and the bar one in same way
