Has anyone done this tour recently and is it worth it as it is not actually at the mine but in fact it is at the info centre ?
Thanks

They don't let you anywhere near a real working mine, OH&S and all that stuff.
You are correct the mine tour is just a fake one dug out like a basement under the info center.
If you have no knowledge at all about mines and how they ran decades ago it will teach you something I guess, but its not at all like a real working mine.

I did this a few years ago and found it very informative. Its set up as a working mine and its quite deep . The info centre is also worthwhile to spend a few hours.

You also get to wear bright orange disposable overalls to protect your clothes from dirt! its fun going down in the mine lift, walking around underground and talking to former miners. Its nothing like the old mine tour where you drove down 1km underground in the back of a ute, avoided working mining vehicles, saw the remote control office where miners were controlling remote mining vehicles, saw glittering walls of the mine containing rich ore, and were in an actual working mine.
