Another report of a car & caravan & a car collision on the Flinders Highway today between Charters Towers & Townsville. One of the drivers suffered a medical condition. The report said a man in his 80s declined a trip to hospital. I guess we'll see more on tonight's news.
Also I'm wondering what visiting people from down south are thinking about our "warm" weather as yesterday broke the records for being the coldest July day, reaching just 15.1 degrees. Today was supposed to be warmer at 18 but it has fallen short of that. The sun came out for 5 minutes this afternoon. I measured 60mm of rain in the past two days.
And the continued issue of property crime - be careful as cars are still being stolen, thrashed & torched.

That's not good Warren. I noticed the temp was low yesterday up there. Still, that's hot mate cos it was -5 here at base camp N E VIC yesterday and this morning but we have had nice sunshine all day. Just starting to get cold as I type this at a tad away from 4.00pm. Cold again tonight and for a many nights after that. The Truma gas heater in the aluminium teepee is working really nice.

I just got back to Mackay from the Riverina after visiting family and to be honest, it is bloody cold,
I drove to Bowen and back today and it is very wet as well.
Bring back winter I say.
It looks a better forecast from tomorrow Wed , on for the rest of the week.

Coldest Winter that we can remember since I retired in 2010 here in Melbourne. Staying at home, sitting in front of the fire with a good book until Spring. Daffodils should be up soon, blossom trees not long after & we're nearly there.
