We saw on ABC TV that there were going to be large tourist developments at Dorrigo.
We visited there way back in the 80's, it was a rundown dairy district full of weedy paddocks with a National Park famous for its numbers of large paralysis ticks.
After a short walk in the lovely rainforest we got a few on us.
Things change in 40 years but the ticks would still be there

Hi 86GTS, We have never been to Dorrigo NP,We get the NSW parks news letter, so I posted it for those who like hiking.
As for ticks as you said they are certainly around,I have only had 2 lucky in our travels.
