We ordered a made to order van last year and opted for the Aussie Traveller Euro ATRV windows. My wife wanted to fit curtains the same as what she had done in our previous van. We reckon that curtains with lining can be an advantage when you want to leave your windows open at night without using the blind as they provide a bit of privacy. They wanted more than $300 a window to install curtains with tracks and another $200/window if we also wanted pelmets matching our upholstery.. We thought that the cost was a bit over the top so I asked them if they would just put some hooks and eyes on all the windows - they said that this idea wasn't possible. I went into the Aussie Traveller website to look at some pictures of the windows maybe come up witn some ideas what I found is that you can actually buy the curtain track that come with the Euro windows for $30ea so I rang the dealer and asked them to fit the ARTV tracks (I also reminded them that I knew what they cost). The van was delivered to the dealer on Monday (15 months after our deposit was paid) the tracks worked out perfectly and the total cost on the invoice for curtain tracks was $160 and that included putting a track across the ceiling for a room divider.
I had a call yesterday to tell me that while they were detailing our van the cleaner had noticed a mark on a cupboard gloss finish door and a small chip in the ensuite bowl, they assured me that they had already been onto the builder and the replacements were on the way from the builder in Melbourne. I went down to tne yard to have a look at this major disaster - to tell you the truth the chip looked more like a tiny imperfection in the ceramics and the mark on the gloss finish door was about the size of a 10c piece that you could only see if you stood with the light at the right angle. Apparently a small peice of sealant had been left on the door and when the cleaner removed it had left a mark there. Since day 1 we have been impressed with the personal service and the attention to detail that this small family owned dealership has provided. It has been a lot better and less stressful than our dealings with the bigger name dealership that we bought our previous van through. I guess the real test is going to come with the quality of the after sales service....
