Hi I looking at buying one of these, 281665 ks on the clock.
Any yays or nays, or things to be wary of in this vehicle, please. Any info much appreciated. Cheers

Don't know about others, but I'm a big fan of low k's when I buy a vehicle. 280 k plus is way too much for me to consider.

It was probably a hire vehicle so should have a good service history.
Most of the hire companies have moved to the Merc Sprinter these days with the full auto transmission where the VW has the automated manual which could be troublesome.
The Merc's expectancy is 500,000 kms so 280,000 is not that serious.
Everything is relative, you pay for what you get and not everybody can afford $160/200k for a motorhome.

With that amount of kms on the clock it's best years are behind it or to put it another way, "it's get up & go has got up & went". It was probably a great unit in its time though. We had a look at second hand motorhomes up to $130,000 & they all looked "a bit tired".

Its a diesel . As long as its been serviced and things like radiator hoses , timing chain or belt. Fuel filters etc if its blowing out oil filler ( cap off). while under load ? Keep walking ! If it starts good from
Cold sign its good . Your not going on the Heatway rally . Take it easy ? Youll be fine ! Often its the over heating or running out of oil that kills them ! From a $20 part ! Its a financial situation ! For one theres waiting lists on new motorhomes . You didnt say what your paying ? A good service wont cost 40 to 60,000 though !
