ACT has just banned new gas connections in homes from next year.
As you have probably found out, it is getting more difficult to get gas bottles refilled over the last few years.
Will they phase out Swap & Go as well? What about gas for at home BBQ's ?
Now, I am open minded about climate change and take the green option when I can. Certainly pollution is a terrible problem.
But I question whether forcibly cutting fossil fuels is going to solve a lot of issues. Somewhat clean air is desirable sure but its no good without clean uncontaminated water. Pest free bees and cows and lots of other pollutants not associated with fossil fuels.
The restrictions in fossil fuels will damage the economy in the short term and make us more likely not to be able to keep up with the cost of living. Shortages of diesel and gas equals costlier production and distribution costs.
Also, what happened to freedom of choice? I'm just a bit resentful of how we are being made to rely on electricity, and being at the mercy of govt controlled outages and costs with no alternative choice and wonder where all this is going. Maybe its time to make sure you have enough solar power to be entirely gas free if you want to free camp. In my case it will mean towing a trailer with extra panels and batteries as I already have the max number of panels on roof and batteries inside. (its only a small motorhome and I've already upgraded to lithium)

You might like to look into putting hinged panels on the side and rear of your vehicle. While you're travelling the panels are folded neatly against the body of your vehicle, and can be swung up when needed. Peter 'n' Margaret have one across the back of their motorhome, and I have seen several utes with panels along the sides of their canopies. To get the best performance you could even make them adjustable, like sun-trackers. Cheers

No, we won't run out but it will no longer be mined (or whatever you call getting gas out of the ground) Not looking for solutions for alternative fuels.
However, you are missing the real point. Its about, how, we are becoming reliant entirely on electricity, mostly with the cost and supply controlled by govts. and big business. Not supplying alternative fuels is just another freedom of choice taken away.

hi Guys
I did not word this question correctly ,I wanted to know if there was a Petrol station at Bourke that sold LPG for my car ,not for gas bottles ,I run petrol and gas on my car
I went on the fuel map on my phone and can see that Hay has gas but it does not show up at the towns above that
it looks like Queensland does not have many gas stations
even in SA where I live a lot of the stations are taking the LPG tanks out
I fully understand your remarks regarding our gas that we produce and sell over seas cheaply

We also have a stove which runs off petrol or lighter fuel, but prefer the alcohol stove for safety. The lighter fuel stove works really well.
