Typical Parks Victoria attitude, they simply do not believe people should be allowed into the bush.
As usual I shall ignore the rules I don't like.

"The regulations do not restrict any activities that are currently allowed and will only be used to restrict an activity if it is necessary to protect the environment, cultural heritage and safety"
The headline shows the Daily Mail's agenda.

I was unaware that, currently, we are prohibited to walk through a National or State Park in Victoria unless it is on a government approved trail.
Of course the new rules will be used to further restrict activity, Parks Victoria have never yet missed an opportunity to make their lives easier and keep people out of the bush.

Similarly NSW National Parks and Wildfires; actually bulldozing fire trails to prevent the public from using them, when in fact it was always the weekend warriors and 4WDers keeping them clear for emergencies (bushfires) - bureaucrats in city offices not having any idea and forgetting that the Parks belong to the People.

Also 4x4 drivers guilty of chopping fire tracked up and making the tacks after rain and washouts making the tracks dangerous for fire fighters.

I still find it incredible that during the 1994 Bushfires in NSW - The MWS&DB (Water Board) opened the gate on the "Switchback Rd" (Picton to Wollondilly Valley) for firefighter access but; Putting an "armed guard" at the gate was just a little over the top, when simply a "lollypop" attendant would have sufficed.

Because the Victorian Government own department is illegally chopping down trees. They don't want people "wandering" off trails seeing things!

People leave their sh1t wherever they go. The laws are a reflection of this. Even the final frontier is full of human sh1t, and it's travelling at 8 km per second.

It reads like a misreported load of rubbish. The chick near the rock pool has nice legs though.
