In Queensland, if you give the TMR a letter / email from Optus confirming that your drivers licence number was leaked, the TMR will give you a new licence free of charge.

It depends on the expiry date of your photo.
In Queensland, 5 years after doing a new photo renewal, you can do an online renewal but the renewal after that requires a new photo and, consequently, requires a visit to a TMR office.
I would expect that, for an Optus-caused new licence, if you are within the first 5 year renewal period, you'll be able to do it online but if you're in the second 5 year period, you'll have to go into an office and have a new photo taken.

Keep a record of all your expenses, date, time, parking costs, milage (both directions), petrol, photographic evidence as backup.
Write up an invoice & mail it to the CEO of Optus (photograph the letter & also you putting it in the mail). Add cost of stamp, paper, envelope & ink to the invoice.
I did once write a complaint letter to Optus CEO & got a call very quickly from one of the senior underlings.
For that matter same with Energy Australia & a few other companies.
It is worth the effort writing physical letters. You do get answers.

You can not get your licence number changed by going online. You must front the service centre with the email that you received from Optus as well as your current licence. They will put in a request for the change. Not sure what you need to do if you are interstate but the following number is worth a ring.

It seems a bit silly not been able to replace a driver's licence online. I recently replaced my UK passport online, a far more higher level of identification. Took photograph myself following their instructions.
P.S. Cheaper & far more organised than my Australian passport which I renewed at the same. time.

Some EU passports require biometric data.

Checked on the TMR website, you need to show proof from Optus. I got a text msg. How do you convey this
with an online application. Needs to be converted to an email.
how does Optus pay for drivers replacement
can that be done online
