Throughout the southern states I have noticed, particularly more through this year, the huge number of different caravan brands and models on the road.
Must be 4 out of 5 vans are ones I have never seen before.
Also many of these are highly decorated, particularly on the rear end, many quite colorful.
Have you noticed this as well.

Yep, lots of different ones around that will come & go.
Some may be ones that went broke, stole clients money & reappeared using a new name.
They are pretty colorful, they kinda remind me of a Cherry Ripe or a Liquorice Allsort.
Ninety percent of them are ''off road'' that will remain highly polished & never go off the bitumen.

There are many "Brands" of caravans made by some Companies that are in reality made by someone buying parts from many sources (mainly Chinese) that supply "cheapest" componentry and material - these are put together by mainly unskilled labour in a rented workshop/garage. There are several large Dealers that supply these caravans as house brands. Warranty on most of these vans is virtually non-existent as the "manufacturer" is operating a Company with $1.00 paid up capital using Mum as CEO. It is impossible for unwary buyers to take any actions to get retribution, when things go pear shaped
Very few caravans are off-road or even gravel-road capable - 250mm high X 1mm Aluminium Checkerplate, painted black, around the bottom of sides and knobby tyres, probably only cause other problems with vans.
Explorex, Kedron, Trackmaster, Evernew, Bushmaster - Do have some caravans that can be made to off-road specifications. These caravans are usually heavy and expensive due to the quality of materials. Note, not all caravans out of these manufacturer's gates are made to these off-road specifications, although these manufacturers do make quality on-road caravans capable of travelling on most gazetted roads if due care is taken.
Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware - With little or no help from Regulatory bodies.

Morning 86,
I have the red one please. It will match my red Collie and not only that but as well even, both being red, I will be able to drive a lot faster and even overtake road trains at a speed to leave them in my dust.

They will go slower due to the extra large air conditioning, batteries & solar to manage the heat.

Years ago we purchased a Dealer Branded Big Tandem Caravan, Looked Great, Towed Great, about 5 years after purchase the wood under the front window started to swell, due to a leak and kept on swelling, Had a big effort to replace the chipboard with real wood. I think the floor of the van was chipboard as well, so any water leaks reaching the floor would create problems.
My thinking, dealer had the van built by the cheapest manufacturer and unknowingly it was supplied with chipboard.

I can see where you're coming from Dougwe being a RED Indian yourself it could match your headress perfectly.
Personally I'd be embarrassed towing either of those vans around.
I believe that the green one was snapped up by Kermit The Frog.

dosent matter how gourdy they make them ...all that glitters is not gold ........a lot of them are built badly not all but .......the younger people love to stand out and will buy these vans fast ..........
That's a goodie, I saw a purple one a few days ago.

Here in NZ we recently had similar looking Australian made "ruggedised offroad" colourful caravan parked alongside.
The entire bottom half of the van walls were covered in serious looking black checker plate. No aluminium involved.
Plastic it was!
