I am in the middle of ordering a new van and have a few HWS to choose from.

Hi Gary,
Truma HWS is 14 litres, about 1 shower for me, not much change out of a $grand.
Swift HWS is 28 litres, the missus gets a wash as well, but Stainless steel tank, no anode to change and the low $900's to buy.
Had both and a Suburban 21 litre (I think), had to change anode on that one.
Caravan Repairer once told me Truma are a trauma, pain in the butt basically, but others may prefer.
Cheers Bob

Truma Instant is pretty pricy coming in at over $1800 + installation - Regular Truma is OK only takes about 15-20 minutes to heat up a tank and costs around $800 + install, we're never in that much of a hurry to have a shower anyway.
I have had both Truma and Suburban, prefer the Suburban even though needs anode replacement 12-18 months. Anodes are cheap enough on FleaBay.

I have the truma ultrarapid. I'm happy with it. It's supposed to keep heating so it doesn't just use the tank and stop. I don't take long showers so I've had no issues with the hot water stopping. It can also do electric and gas together to speed it up.

Hi Gary. Trumas good gear, from my experience. I have a Truma Combi D6 which is not only a very quick hot water heater, but also a space heater that quickly heats my van to 30 degrees, if needed. When temps are low I leave it running 24/7 because diesel usage is miniscule. Cheers

We have recently upgraded our old gas only SUBURBAN hot water unit to a SWIFT gas and electric (auto gas ignition), stainless steel tank no anode servicing (unless bore water is is used) 28 litre. When in a caravan park both gas and electric (240volt) can be used together therefore recovery time is very fast.
The decision was made as with the old unit I kept having to relight the pilot light when a strong wind came along.
All the parts to refurbish for the old gas SUBURBAN one added up to I think around $800 without fitting, anode, thermostat, pressure valve, door latch, thermo - coupler and pilot assembly, burner unit. (ONLY TANK LEFT)
Any opinions on the Trump UltraRapid HWS?

Cannot complain with new unit.
