Yesterday during a heat wave the power went out (temporarily) at home and I was most uncomfortable, that's putting it mildly!
Anyway, as we live by the Murray River we could potentially lose power, sewer & water for 3 months (we are going away for a few weeks which will help). I was thinking about buying an 8inch lithium battery fan that I could use if this happens but also for camping in the car in the future and I think I've narrowed it down to the Spinifex or the Coleman 8inch as it would be small enough to use in the x-trail.
Has anyone used either of these
Cheers

I had a Coleman before I got the Aluminium Tent in my signature and very happy with it. When I got the Aluminium Tent I also used it until I fitted a Sirocco Fan.
Both that you mention are very similar so whatever the best deal wins I reckon.

As an alternative, you could get one that matches the batteries from your cordless tools, I use a Makita one which is very efficient.

Just spotted this thread, and Rod's use of a Makita fan interests me. Hoping someone can advise what size battery I would need to run the fan overnight? There are several Makita batteries in my toolbox, but I think that the biggest is 5ah. Is this big enough? Cheers

Looking at the Makita website. The DCF301 fan with BL1860B 6.0AH battery.
Minutes:
High 215
Medium 430
Low 850
Two issues why I wouldn't use a building site fan whichever brand.
Without battery it weighs 3.8kg, obviously built to have a full 6.0m³ skip bin dropped on it!
Also I have a gut feel they don't run that quietly on low setting, doesn't really matter on a building site.
Might be better knocking up a couple of Noctua 200mm quiet fans, & they are very energy efficient. fans. https://noctua.at/en/products/fan/nf-a20-flx
This is a 120mm fan I knocked up. I already had spare fans, but I would go 200mm next time.

Thanks Jonathan. The one I'm considering may be a different model, as it weighs (skin only) 1.6kg. If I get some time I may look at the Noctua fans hat you recommend. Thanks again. Cheers

There should be one on the floor at Bunnings, Sydney Tools, Total tools etc, do a branch search. take a tired looking battery with you & test one.
