I am looking at replacing my 3-way fridge with a Vitrifrigo DP150I compressor fridge. Does anyone have one and can tell me what you think of it. Also can you tell me how any AH it uses per hour. Below is the link.
I had one in my old van, same size, I won' have another.
I think you can do much much better
Best to leave further comments and suggestions to others
Cheers

Thanks for the reply I am looking at either this one or the Dometic RUC 5208X as thees are the only two that will fit in the space. I was only leaning towards the Vitrifrigo for the separate freezer.

We had a 133litre Virifrigo fridge freezer with a remote compressor. Expensive & I wouldn't buy another.
In fact I wouldn't buy another combined fridge freezer full stop, UNLESS it had a separate thermostat for the fridge & for the freezer. Neither of the two in the links has this, & I suspect that such beasts are not common. We chose in our next vehicle to have separate fridge & separate freezer & after a number of years using them still think it was a wise decision. A single thermostat for both fridge & freezer has to be a compromise.
If you cannot fit anything else your choice is between the 2 door & 2 year warranty o the 1 door & 3 year warranty. Not an easy choice I think.
If you could possibly fit a small separate chest freezer somewhere else & get a 'fridge only' to fit your current space it would be a far better option in regard to food storage, but of course it would require a bit more battery & solar.
Or if the freezer section is not vital to you than a 'fridge only' would be a better option too.

We have a Vitrifrego compressor fridge model C130 L OCN which was a replacement under warranty for an Evercool compressor fridge which gave us continual problems. The Vitrifrego has been faultless for over 4 years now. As this fridge has a tiny freezer compartment we also have a 46 litre Evercool freezer in a front storage compartment of the van, this is for the long and sometimes remote trips we take.

Are you able to advise why you say you could do better and you wouldn't get another one.
I need to replace my 3 way and on paper the VITRIFRIGO 150 fits the old recess very well.
I am open to all comments as to this particular fridge

I have a 130L Vitrifrigo all fridge with remote compressor in the OKA plus a seperate DIY freezer.
I added 50mm of rigid polyurethane foam insulation.
The door hinge is showing some signs of wear and the door seals are a tad tired.
It is now 20 years old.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Cuppa
Disregarding price, do you have any other reasons why you wouldn't go with Vitrifrigo again.

We also have a 130l Vitrifrigo with remote compressor and while it has never given any trouble it suffers from a lack of insulation, cannot maintain much less than -15 in the freezer and the freezer is too small.
The fridge side seems ok. I also fitted an additional 30mm of insulation to the cabinet and hate to think how poor it would be without it.
Fit a domestic 240v unit if you can find one to fit, more efficient and inverter models only need a 350w inverter to power them.

Price aside, I *would* buy another Vitrifrigo, but only if it were fridge only. Like Peters. Having the fridge & freezer compartment in the same box, was just too much of a compromise. For good freezing the cucumber & lettuce at the bottom of the fridge would freeze. Internal fans made little difference. Changing to separate fridge & freezer was a game changer for us.
