Do they make deployable steps, which additionally go up & down.

Someone will be along soon to say that they are over rated as tow vehicles and are not as good as you now what

Not on this model, the tray cover is push button, open and closed and the tailgate is automatic up and down.
I can see why we are seeing more and more of these large type vehicles like Rams,Chevys and Fords, you still get a lot of bang for your bucks.

I have seen a few Rams on Sydney Northern Beaches, they have all the necessary design features for school runs... child seats.
They even have 40mm removable towbar for trips to the tip for the "near out of fashion" home furnishings so the car doesn't get too dirty.
Couldn't be caught dead at Kimbriki Tip in the wrong vehicle.
The Ram vehicle seems to be Ouessant sheep in wolf's clothing.

Expensive luxury is no problem if your buying in that market. Bloody beautiful.

Nice vehicle PT.
Does your son use the vehicle for towing or is it just a comfortable highway cruiser no pun intended.
I have a mate interstate that has a Silverado pulling quite a large fifth wheeler and it is a very well suited vehicle and it abounds in comfort in both the vehicle and his van.
Good luck to him.

Read that rams are lighter than a 200 series cruiser?

Not being familiar with Silverados I don't know what model it is, so can't comment. Perhaps Plain Truth can advise? Cheers.

This is indeed the case with the Ram 1500. Like bigger Chevs, the bigger Ram models are very capable vehicles if you like that sort of car. Cheers

It is my grandson's vehicle,he tows a tri-axle trailer with his pet hobbie a Holden Senator racing car.
One of my brother-in-laws has a Ram 2500 purely for its towing capacity (he's a contract harvester).
All of the Yank utes are too large for me (yes, I'd love the interior room) but they wouldn't get into my garage, are hopeless in the usual shopping centres (my D-Max borders on insanity sometimes). BUT they have one thing good about them - their rear axle overhang is much better than the brood of European/Asian utilities & just like Nissa Patrol/Toyota LC wagons where the rear axle is much closer to the towbar giving less chance of the "Dual-cab Breaking Chassis Syndrome."

Ive got the 2019 2500 Ram Limited Diesel, wife loves the electric step easier to get into vehicle than her sisters Isuzu Mux
Use to have a Cruiser 105 4.2T auto, I wouldnt go backwards better fuel economy, more comfortable and less tiring
at the end of a days towing. Best thing is when descending ranges dont even have to use brakes.
Same goes for pushing a head wind dont even realise that you are.
As for parking dont have a problem with van, go shopping just take 2 parking spaces at least nobody puts a scratch
down the side.
I say go luck to your grandson hopefully he has many happy years of travels.

Looking at the website referenced, the LT versions of the Silverado indicates that those vehicles, for their physical size, have relatively low max rear axles, GVM and payloads. One would have to take care when loading with a van not exceed these loads, especially with the space available.
The HD version has greater loading capacitpies.
For the LT versions:
Max Rear Axle Load 1,724kg, Payload ~740kg, GVMs 3,300kg and 3,221kg
My smaller Prado, in a standard form, has:
Max Rear Axle Load 1,800kg, Payload ~610kg, GVM 2,990kg

Grandson came down over the Silly Season with his latest towing rig. Yes they are bigger and bigger,I'll stick with the Prado.
The wife had bit of trouble figuring out the best what to get in it.
Nice, he must have been a good boy for Santa.

Why stop at two spaces when you could take four, may as well plss three people instead of just one. 9News - Latest news and headlines from Australia and the world
