Hi Gurus!
I am about to buy used Van number 10, and because I only keep Vans for a year max, I need to make sure I buy one that is popular to sell. So whilst I am a soloist I do want something 18 to 23ft and must have Airconditioning. My questions are, is 2 x single beds preferred by most people and is a ensuit popular
Thanks
Mick

Single beds? Some like them some dont. Very subjective.
Ensuite? Well my neighbour was going to buy a van. I advised him strongly to buy one with ensuite. Nope, he bought one without. So there are some that dont care, they stay in caravan parks and dont mind using their bathrooms. Us, I wouldnt be without an ensuite.
Consider the Jurgens Lunagazer or Tooradin. The size you want, ensuite, light to tow. I own a sungazer 5m. Great van. Jurgens went out of business 2020 but most parts are generic.

If it's van number 10 I would have thought that you would be more qualified than most to answer your own questions!
Quality generally holds it's value better than layout options I would have thought, as every layout will have a market.

Almost agree, I would have thought by the third van!
As far as beds, young buyers will want one bed. At the other end of the spectrum 2 beds are best. Sister in-law has a bed at each end of the caravan, their previous long term caravan had one bed (better leave it at that)!
A bit like an ensuite but in reverse. Older buyers will want one.

Ensuite is handy for midnight wandering to pee, Double beds take too much space out of van, singles for us.
As Cuppa said "quality" holds its price. 23ft quality vans are usually heavy, 3 to 3.5 tonne.
AC is nice to have but rarely used, we travel to the climate we want to be in.

Years ago I once asked a salesman at the big show in Sydney if we could order without ensuite. Yes he said, but why would you. We had our reasons at the time, but I clearly remember him saying, if you ever want to sell it, you will have a beggar of a time doing so, because in his opinion, nobody wants a caravan without an ensuite.

Larger vans without an ensuite are almost impossible to sell, single beds are less popular overall than an island queen bed. But you save a lot more money if you buy a van that really suits you and hold onto it than by keeping on changing vans.

Although I have little experience trading caravans I imagine that what you say in your first sentence above would be true as most caravanners appear to be couples, and I can't imagine that wandering around outside for a midnight pee would be top of the must-do list for members of the fairer sex? Cheers
