Hoping the collective brains trust of The Grey Nomads can assist with this problem that has me baffled:
Shower mixer water goes too hot then too cool then too hot etc while trying to have a shower. This has just suddenly started behaving this way. I have previously (months ago) removed the tempering valve to ensure nice hot water to every tap in the van and simply adjust temperature with the mixer. Going great until last week when showering, the issue at hand started up !! I thought the mixer valve cartridge must be the culprit but I replaced that but with no change. With mixer turned to HOT, the hot water is continuous. When turned to COLD, the cold water is continuous. But when middle range i.e. comfortable showering temperature is selected, the water goes to very hot then to very cool alternately. Impossible to use the shower now !!! By the way, the mixer at the kitchen sink and vanity work perfectly!!! All suggestions warmly received. Happy vanning and Happy New Year. Cheers.

I did remove my "tempering valve" and was disappointed with the result after the tempering valve caused some problems while way touring.
On return home I replaced the valve after consulting a close friend and licenced plumber.
Firstly I noticed the adjustment to regulate the temperature of the water was in the to hard basket. Either to hot or to cold, kept needing to adjust.
Water at kitchen sink had not changed.
Mostly the vanity basin mixer tap was only used for cold, not noticed there.
Now my thought was that, as we used our hot water it was being heated, causing the need to continual adjust.
We have a Tumu 14 litre hot water service which is at one end of the caravan and the shower 6 metres the other end.
We do have a friend with a 22 litre water heater about 2 metres from the shower and be tells me he runs without a tempering valve very successfully.
I am more then happy to run legally with the tempering valve in my hot water system.
Remember it is a legal requirement to have a hot water tempering valve in your hot water system.

Not only caravans. Ever since the water board sold off the land in Fairlight & started direct pumping. No cistern on top of hill any more.
Reduced water pressure has played havoc with our 2 instantaneous electric hot water systems for a decade.
Also water quality dropped as simply having a tank on top of the hill removed particles from the water. Had to put in a 4 stage filter to fix water quality for drinking.
Anyway, look at water pressure.

If has a relief valve, open that for awhile - that will expel any air.
