What are members experiences of travelling with the Foxtel (yes I know) IQ5? Given it's relatively small size, I though we could use it instead of our current SatKing vast receiver. I was thinking of using my gigabit internet connection at home, and satellite feed on the road. But like most things Foxtel, the connection is one or the other, not both. And it would seem an "activation process" is required to change the feed. So what are your thoughts? Anyone else using the IQ5 on the road?

I actually use both, IQ5 doesn't do FTA like the old box, you need to have your ariel connection to the box, which is a pain if you have no FTA reception!

Thanks Fiery. So are you saying that you can switch from an ISP feed to SAT feed without needing to reset the box? The FTA TV is a non issue for me. I would like to stream the Formula 1 races by satellite in 4K but also use the included complementary F1TV Pro app to watch all the extra stuff, using internet data, not transmitted with the satellite feed. Hope that all make's sense.

I could not get reception to my Foxtel IQ5 box at Evans Head in late May via my satellite dish. I questioned Foxtel and they said reception by satellite dish using an IQ5 box will only work at your home address. I can still access my Foxtel service but only through the internet using the Foxtel go app either on my phone or tablet. Hence my satellite dish is no longer of any use to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions about a good data plan that I can use when away travelling?

Circles Life Australia plans:-
1. 100GB PER MONTH for $35.00 per month
2. 200GB PER MONTH for $45.00 per month
3. 400GB PER MONTH for $70.00 per month
Circles Life use the Optus network.
Here in Mackay (and as I type this post) I get a download speed which averages
54 Mbps.
I regularly travel within Queensland and stay overnight at locations other than
Mackay. I've always gotten reception. The lowest download speed I can recall was
8 Mbps at Miriam Vale, which was still fast enough to enable me to watch internet
TV using apps not actually but similar to Netflix, Stan and Binge.
