My wife Kerryn and I have joined as members. We have been campers all our lives in swags, camp trailers, tents and caravans. We are in our last year of employment and cant wait to hit the frog and toad again. Our last 10 years of holidays have been spent in swags under an awning off our Hilux and after our 6 weeks in every remote place in the Kimberleys including a Honeymoon Bay we figure we are too old to live out of a swag and have ordered a caravan arriving late April. We cant wait to read all the great information and stories from other travellers on this wonderful site.

Welcome to the Forum.
There is a lot of information to be gleaned from this site.
I'll start with possibly the most important. All caravan manufacturers supply the cheapest componentry at maximum profits to them. All Dealers will say whatever (truth or otherwise) to get your money for their least effort.
Ensure that you have your caravan inspected and weighed before accepting delivery. Download free technical advice and checklists from Caravan Councill of Australia website. Link; www.facebook.com/CaravanCouncilOfAustralia/
Understand your weights; ATM, GTM, Tare. TBW, etc. this is critical for safe towing.

Hey great to hear. We also have a new 15ft Torus Kakadu hybrid and been on a few trips in preparation for retirement travelling. We set ours up to be used off grid and tow with a dual cab 79. Just love the setup. It suits our needs extremely well.

Welcome to the Forum to you as well Indie.
Your 79 Dually is a nice bit of gear to tow your new Kakadu Tauris. Have fun out there in the big playground.
