Opening Round is almost on us. Mighty Dees to take on Swans, up there, no NRL at home.
Melbourne show some form to " ease " past Blue baggers by a lazy 38 points in last practice game.

Craig,
What the hell are you talking about? What is the subject heading instead of the 2024 Season?
I see NRL so one can now assume that you are referring to Football Season.
Very vague thread mate

Jay and Dee,
If you are in Vic, SA,WA or Tas and you see Dees and Swans, you immediately know you are talking about Melbourne football club playing the Sydney football club.
I don't follow NRL that much, but I do know in my home state, Melbourne Storm have done very well in the last ten years.
Last year, one in every twenty six aussies were a member of a AFL club (1,000,000 members)
Why is this weeks games called opening round and round 1 starts next week ???

So the selected few that play this week can have another bye later in the year was one thought.
N R L went to Vegas for their big event, so of course A F L have to go to Sidley and brisvagas

Morning Craig and others,
Now I know deep down you were expecting me to wake up and have a say, so I can't disappoint.
As you know I follow Melbourne Storm in the NRL as your good self does but my main love and has been for more years than I can remember is Baseball. My Atlanta Braves as all other MLB teams are currently in Spring Training over in the USofA but will be season proper very soon.
I've had a busy summer here in OZ with Summer baseball. I am closer to Sydney and Canberra teams and have been keeping an eye on them but still follow the Melbourne Aces in the ABL. Now, OZ winter baseball has made an appearance. No rest for the wicked mate.
I won't mention the D's mate.
Keep Safe.

Oh dear! Nothing much demonic about the Dees last night Craig. They have to play four quarters of footy not three. Still there is plenty of time to improve.

It's getting quite confused with Ball sports these days with new ones popping up all the time, like Dougwe's "Bazball" now I keep hearing about it but does it really exist or is it just a figment of someone's imagination?

As the Fonz would say Kebbin, "heeeey". Wash ya mouth out mate. Baseball has been in this great land down under for many moons, many.
I have been heavily involved in baseball since a young whipper snapper and my late son was a catcher in a National team here in OZ.
"Does it really exist?" You betcha.

Yep, 1st game and bad early kicking, could have had Swans buried. ah well. Hope Storm can keep opening game record intact, 22 years or so.

It is rugby league heartland here in the Newcastle/Hunter region you cant imagine how distraught I was when I got a photo of our 10 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson kitted out in their Warners Bay Bulldogs gear. They have decided to play AFL with the WB Bulldogs this season in the Newcastle/Central Coast competition. A lot of people dont realise it but what was once referred to as Victorian Rules has been played here in the Hunter since 1881 its not the most popular football code nowadays but it still gets a healthy following.

A little birdie tells me the Bluebaggers had another win, 2 on the trot. Could be an interesting season if they really hit their straps and keep at it

Two weeks in a row now for feather dusters of the black and white variety. Shame Swans stopped to a crawl in the last few minutes. 3 junk time goals could be costly in Sept.

Apparently, he practices that move after every training session - trying to keep his left hand up.

Dees crush Hawks 53 points, their worst score against Dees since 1960, and what a Dee lightful year that was.
Tassie Jackjumpers go to a 2-1 lead as well.
