Thanks for the replies. I have crossed the Nullarbor many times and also did it back in 1972 on the 200 odd kms of dirt. I am ONLY interested in the Old Eyre Highway as next time I travel over to the West I will do the old dirt section just for the memories.

Nuh, did that in 2013, GU Patrol, Jayco Discovery pop-top - The glass plate in microwave bounced about a bit causing door to open - a million bits of safety glass. Absolutely no idea of current condition, particularly since all the recent rains/floods.
Has anyone travelled the Old Eyre Highway between the Nullarbor Roadhouse and the SA/WA Border Roadhouse? If so how was the condition of the road?
I travelled that section in 1954 on the back of a truck.
But not since.
A couple of years ago we drove a section further east with the permission of the Yalata Community.
It is characterised by lots of limestone outcrops, typical of the landscape.
Cheers,
Peter
