Darwin to Cairns via Savannah Way

hi all anyone know what condition the Savannah Way (Darwin to Cairns) MAYBE in during the month of May , I was thinking of travelling this way and will be towing 22 ft semi off road van with a modified Ford Ranger. Any my thoughts or experienc would be helpful.
