Outlet shower plumbing pipe
(Preview)
The outlet plumbing pipe from the shower under the caravan has a bladder in a part of the pipe. This bladder seems to stick together quite often which prevents the shower from draining. The bladder is accessible by disconnecting part of the plumbing and freeing up the bladder by hand, which is inconve...

NRMA Changes
(Preview)
Recently renewed our membership. As part of general membership they are restricting towing of vans and trailers to less then 2000kg. Now costs extra per month to cover towing of any car and trailer combo over 3500kg. Not happy but like most insurance you don't like it until you need it. Glenn

Void your insurance - Just because your car has five or seven seats doesn't mean you can carry that many people.
(Preview)
Interesting article about how a car with a large number of seats ( 7 say - like some cars have ) could be overloaded just with number of people - like 7 adults. The overloading could void your insurance. Does not mention caravans at all - but I just found the article surprising... and something I had not re...

Isolation whilst on the road
(Preview)
I am curious if anyone on here has had to isolate whilst on the road. Where did you go/stay and how did you get on? I know some have the set ups to go bush for a while, but not all can do that or you're not in the right location. So tell us your hints, tips, ideas and practical solutions. Thanks.

(Preview)
Hi Nomads. Still doing my homework on what van to buy. I have a late model Prado and am looking at something around 17'6 or thereabouts. I've had Redarc electric brake thingys fitted to my tug. I don't really want to go above 2750kg ATM. What are the pros / cons of single / tandem axle? I know manoeuvring a...

Car alarm keeps going off could it be the maxtrax
(Preview)
I recently added 2maxtrax to the roof of my car and I just got back from my 1st trip with them (used them to get someone else out of being bogged in the sand) and now the alarm on my car keeps going off. I've never had trouble before and it's pretty windy out there so I'm thinking (hoping) it's the extra wind r...

It's happened again. Last week I camped at the Tallangatta (Victoria) Showgrounds, this is a large grassed area (25 acres?) with power and water points around most of its expanse, one may camp anywhere, no designated spots. I had been there for eight days camped 20m from a single woman, she had her car...
