how do i work out the correct legal ball weight of my vehicle for towing and how do i calculate the correct ball weight of the new caravan i believe you can buy a device that fits on the tow hitch when van is attached and it tells you the weight on the ball ???

We have a Dometic 3 way fridge which has stopped working on 12v when towing. We have just arrived in Adelaide and will be here for next month before moving on.
