I know its not a good time of year to go down it, but I will be tempted to take the chance as I will be heading to Melbourne from Yulara early in the new year. Has anyone been along there recently?

Hello all, we are going on a trip from Cairns to Coffs Harbour, via the inland route. we would appreciate any advice on which road to use to cross to the coast road, probably from Warwick.Thanks Robyn

Planning a trip to Darwin in may and would appreciate any tips anyone may have about this highway fuel stops etc just started living the dream first time trip to Darwin in a small hiace camper ... plan to take 3.. 4 months on to Broome .. Perth then back to Melbourne just over 11000 km ... cant wait...

I know it's hilly but is the road width Ok for vans. Drove on some older 9 ft roads into hills recently so want to make sure the Lyell is OK. Any advice appreciated.

Hi, Has anyone travelled that road towing a caravan i plan to do so in March is it wide enough to pass it looks like there are gravel sections very winding in some places i will be towing a Avan campervan any advice will be welcomed. John

Recently travelled from Gladstone to Kalpowar on the Boyne Valley Road. Did not actually go all the way to Monto but that is next "big town". The road was bitumen and fine to Many Peaks. Big change to when I was last there. This is an excellent drive to Many Peaks, but not suitable for caravans...

Anybody done this road towing a caravan, I have a 20 ft caravan being towed behind a ford ranger ? I'm not a speed freak, i don't mind taking my time enjoying the scenery, going around october eventually getting to mallacoota to do some fishing in my kayak and resting up. Pomme.

Major work on the Bruce continues - the road just out of Gympie is a bit torn up, and there are sections where traffic is slowed to 70km, with narrow lanes. Parachillna to Blinman SA. Only about 30 km, I'm wondering about the suitability of this road for travel in a motor home, i.e. creek crossings, corrugations etc. Our vehicle is a 4 ton Kea.

Change of scenery and a great road - go out to Cumborah and back. Sealed all the way and I think smoother than the main road! A bit further but a great free camp at Cumborah - leave the van and do the opal fields from there.

This road is great. Mostly flat, sealed all the way with lots of new seal. Very little traffic it seems. Shortcut to Nyngan instead of going via Bourke.

Road from Thargomindah, Eromanga, Windorah, Jundah, in and out of Stonehenge - all sealed now although just one lane much of the way but all good as very little traffic. Ignore the 'Dry weather only' sign on the southern Stonehenge road - needs updating as the road is now sealed all the way.
