Hi all we are planning on going to Griffith next week via the newell and would appreciate any tips on the state of the road, steep hills and good places to stop. Our rig is 19m long and she hates any hill work. We await your advise cheers

Can anyone provide some recent info on the road conditions between Nockatunga and Tibooburra? Would I be able to tow an On Road Caravan with care? Thinking of travelling this way to South Australia via Broken Hill, next month.

Will be heading this way in 4 weeks and just wondering if anyone has driven on it recently and can update me on the condition as it is meant to be a major off-road. Will be towing a small off road caravan but if its going to be too rough may just continue on the Great Northern Hwy.

Query on the road conditions in the next few days from Coonabarabran to Pilliga and then onto Burren Junction and then onto Collarenebri and Mungindi. Is Pilliga and Burren Junction definitely pet friendly? Are their fees? thanks cobberandco

We originally planned to travel this road as we heard a rumour that it had been sealed. It isn't sealed, it is corrugated, rough and dusty. We regret towing our van over it, now busy cleaning dust out of everywhere!

A disgrace to Queensland. Very rough and considering the number of trucks using it I would expect it to be better looked after

Travelled the Kidman way from Goolgowi to Bourke. A great road, good surface. My only gripe is the lack of rest areas along the way.
