Query on the road conditions in the next few days from Coonabarabran to Pilliga and then onto Burren Junction and then onto Collarenebri and Mungindi. Is Pilliga and Burren Junction definitely pet friendly? Are their fees? thanks cobberandco

We originally planned to travel this road as we heard a rumour that it had been sealed. It isn't sealed, it is corrugated, rough and dusty. We regret towing our van over it, now busy cleaning dust out of everywhere!

A disgrace to Queensland. Very rough and considering the number of trucks using it I would expect it to be better looked after

Travelled the Kidman way from Goolgowi to Bourke. A great road, good surface. My only gripe is the lack of rest areas along the way.

They want to let everyone thinking about travelling to Cape York Peninsula know that the Mareeba to Weipa/The Tip road is open and will remain open for the dry season. The park says that there have been rumours going around that the road...

I have only included the roads I travelled on in May 2014 from Mullewa to Murchison and Gascoyne Junction (dirt and river crossings) and later from Gascoyne Junction out to Kennedy Ranges. There were also lots of washaways and deep gutters caused by water crossing the road. I checked at Mullewa...

The Hunter freeway from west of Newcastle (near Newcastle link road on F3/M1) to the New England Hwy near Branxton will open tomorrow (Sat. 22nd March). If heading north there is no need to go via Cessnock or through Maitland etc. Will save a lot of frustating traffic and time. Patto.

hi would you be able to tell me which way would be better to tow a caravan from Toowoomba to coffs harbour , I haven't towed any thing for a long time the caravan is approx. 17 feet and I drive a v6 triton not the most powerful vehicle so just after your opinions thanks . cliff
