We have a new house guest, came uninvited this morning and took up residence on our back verandah.A beautiful creature about 6 feet long a bit on the thin side,I guess that it just came out of hibernation. The Magpies and Mynahs alerted us to his arrival with loud bird noises(could'nt spell squawking). He can stay as long as he/she wants to.Cheers.Ibbo.

Train it to eat Mynah's. They're in pest proportions everywhere.

When it's finished its formal training on Mynahs and cats, could we please hire it (at a reasonable rate please) as we have a pesky, randy neighbourhood cat that likes to serenade us (right under our bedroom window) in the early hours of the morning. Neil doesn't like me screeching at it as it wakes him up from his peaceful slumber.
Cheers

Pythons are one of the good guys when it comes to pest control, especially frogs.
I actually like the frogs but for some reason the blokes on the stations hated them. Pity they don't each cane toads.
I did get a bit of a shock when I spotted a small one coiled up in the bottom of the linen cupboard on a couple of table cloths. I'd love to see some pics too. Cheers Chris

An up date on Syd Snake.He/she must be in hiding at the moment. It will be around somewhere because the Mynahs are still gathering on the verandah roof and making a lot of noise. At the moment we have high winds and plenty of dust in the air,a strange yellowy, brown sky and a very eerie feeling prevails.(not used that word before).lol.must be the intelectual effect the Forum has on me.Cheers.Ibbo.

Lots of thick red dust down here too Ibbo. Our tug is a nice shade of mud after last nights little bit of rain. Would hate to see what the van looks like at the moment. Will check it out later today.
Evidently all the dust is coming in from Broken Hill. The winds down here at the moment are very strong, bordering on gale force I reckon.

Elaine,I know what you mean. The dust is horrible and it does make it hard to breathe if you are outside.I can see the casualty depts being very busy with folk that have chest ailments. My advice is to stay inside.Go to bed with a good book or with someone who has read one.lolCheers.Ibbo.

Sounds like it runs in the family Ibbo. Christmas dinner with the whole family would be a hoot at your place?? Christmas cards would be recycled from last year and last years
presents (unwanted) would be given the the one on your right.
Mum could suck the chocolate off the chocolate coated almonds before passing them around.
Bit like the Griswold's familly Christmas.
I have tears running down my cheeks at the moment as my imagination is running rife. (it tends to do that) Thanks for the laugh Ibbo
Find the snake...........................maybe the cat got it.

You would nver believe this but my neighbour has just chased a Brown snake out of his Bobcat Machine, never saw anyone move as fast.I had only before told him about Daves episode with a snake.Disco and Daisy funny you should mention the Griswolds because that it just how my wife Sylvia decribes us when we put up the van awning or get into a tight parking spot. The more I read the Forum the more I think it would be great to get together to organise a Grey Nomads Convention and wine tasting.I suppose that because we live in such a big country it could be a logistic nightmare. If we put our minds together(Don't say it Basil)perhaps we could come up with a fairly central destination,or even something like a progressive dinner, some could meet at one place, then go on to the next place, drop out if needs be.Other G/N's could meet at the next location and we could carry on until we have all met.We may not have all met at the one place but we would have met.A radical thought perhaps but I thought that I would chuck it in the middle and see what we can come up with.Cheers.Ibbo.

Ma and Guru,I sent the walker back.It did not have a reverse gear.I could have been going round in circles forever trying to go back to where I had come from.I am waiting for Mick the Mongrel to send me some Mack air horns,go down well if we ever move into a village.lol.Cheers.Ibbo.

HAPPY BIRTDAY IBBO!!!!!! Now who said 70 yr olds are a little short in the thinking department? What a great idea for all to eventually meet... Wonder why you thought of Dave as the logistics person eh? couldn,t agree more. Now Dave.... are you up to the challenge? By the way.....bloody snakes!! was sitting with my husband in the back entertainment area when he just got up and went to the shed. Nothing out of the ordinary about that...thought he was just getting a beer as you do----- when next he walked back with a shovel, looked at me and just said, "stay there". OH SURE!! I'm likely to stay there when he's walking around with a shovel in his hand..I did the right thing...got up on the table!! There was a poor snake, swimming in our pool, unable to get out, so my hunter gatherer assisted him with the shovel. Pretty thing , he told me.OH YEAH. I don't go in their pool, so they can stay out of mine. That was a couple of days ago, so haven't ventured outside much.
cheers Dellie
