Congraulations !! Hope that little girl pops out soon :) I remember the day after my first grandchild was born, 19 years ago and I saw this sign on the back of a car "If I had know grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first" and LOL how true that is :)

How exciting AmandaJayne. Know how you feel. Wait till you hear her in labour over the phone, thats interesting. Knowing she's going through it and you are just that far away. Congratulations for today, hopefully.

My eldest grand daughter is 12 years old today. So who's an old granny then? Nah, not me. My daughter was very young. My family has taken dysfunctional to a whole new level, too hard to explain. Even I don't understand it. It is always special when those grandchildren start arriving. I hope everything goes well eventually for your daughter and the new arrival. As long as they know what causes it, and work out when it should stop, so they can start doing IT for fun again, and stop taking their bonking so seriously.

We took in 14 extra kids.. with my 3 (17 all up).... well.. I've lost count of the 'grandkids' but the eldest is 15 if ya count the kiddie (dont tell her I just said that roflol) of the first girl we took in (that one happens to be in her 40's now).. I started collecting *extras* when I was 26.... the youngest is taking her sweet time getting here... poor Helen is still in stage 1!!! she is really really bored to tears and frustrated at the lack of movement... they wont let her home while she is in labor you see... she is hoping they give her a hand to get going... and I'm waiting patiently by the phone.
With my 'own' children.. this is number 7.... that kinda gives you an idea...... our family breed like bunnies!!! roflolololololololol

I had a teary eyed daughter on the phone tonight... she's fed up and wants to come home... oh dear.... I told her she cant and has to go thro with it now... tis alittle late to cross the legs!!! For her to think of this weekend and how she will feel holding her little baby in her arms... not so sure that will convince her much... she has a low pain theshold and gets really cranky (the mildest way of putting it) when she is in pain.... god help the staff there!!!! I was really really hoping she would have her bub by now.... looks like we have to wait longer.... This is the first time in her life that I have not been by her side with anything stressfull like this.... (she has had a few ops n hospital stays) and she is 30 now so I hope she'll be ok.

She's a grown up adult now, living her own life and needs to take responsibility for everything. If her water has broken they won't let her out of hospital because of risk of infection. They obviously consider her too close to go home and they want to watch her and the baby's progress. It's in her and the baby's best interest to do as they're told. I went home with my third one despite have a day of labour in hospital all day, but the next morning as I went to get out of bed my water broke. I uttered some instructions to my partner and we had a 9lb 6 oz girl by lunch time. She's now 31 year's old, 5ft 9 tall, and no one give her any cheek. Not even her mum. Just love 'em.

Hang in there everyone. It must be a bit of a worry by now. What will be, and if medical intervention is necessary for the sake of mum and bub, so be it. What will be will be.
