Just a thought, and I am fairly new to the forum, so it may well have already been discussed, a buy and sell section, or swap and trade section.
( Reminds me of a joke, "got a new bike for my ex , I thought that was a pretty good trade !!")

I support your idea woody could make lif easier for all Gray Nomads to be able to hand on, swap or sell

I think there are enough free sites such as Gum Leaf where this can be done. Swapping via this site might be acceptable, but I'd be against using it as a venue for selling. Everyone is free to choose.

Hi woody, this might be a silly question, but what's in the can on your Avatar? I know what it looks like.

I think you have opened a can of worms (just like your avatar) no really, it has been disscussed before and Cindy has knocked it back, and as others have said there are other site's for selling, buying or trading.

A 'buy and sell' section is something we have thought about. We're just a bit concerned about liability issues and also whether adding a 'money' element to the forum may spoil the friendliness. We may think about it again in the new year as the concept seems to have a fair bit of support amongst members.

I'd prefer swap and trade rather than money matters.

I am all for a members only RV and RV items or towing vehicles for sale, swap or free, no liability taken by GN site owner, private transactions only.
No commercials sales on that section whether it be by members or non members joining for that purpose.
Other RV forums allow it so why not here and give our GN members the opportunity to do so among ourselves. Gets a "Tick" from me !!

It could work out ideal for some. If you have pieces you don't want and someone else needs. If it was a new topic/ threads/ section. And if someone is interested they PM them. Once the item is gone the original owner writes on their own thread that it is no longer available. That way no one else knows who you are dealing with and no one needs to get disappointed or whatever if they miss out.

You could twist my arm for about 5 million, it would depend on what you had for a trade in.

used wombat's are few and far between.

A patient's family gathered to hear what the specialists had to say. "Things don't look good. The only chance is a brain transplant. This is an experimental procedure. It might work, but the bad news is that brains are very expensive, and you will have to pay the cost yourselves."
"Well, how much does a brain cost?" asked the relatives.
"For a male brain, $500,000. For a female brain, $200,000."
Some of the younger male relatives tried to looked shocked, but all the men nodded because they thought they understood. A few actually smirked. But the patient's daughter was unsatisfied and asked, "Why the difference in price betweem male and female brains?"
"A standard pricing practice." said the head of the team. "Women's brains have to be marked down because they have been used."

I am also a member of another forum, which does have a buy and sell section and sorry Cindy it is still a very friendly forum just like this one.
The buy and sell thread on that forum is very popular with members and does not have any effect on thr friendliness of the forum.
So it does not really matter to me because if I want to buy or sell I just go to that particular forum.
I just brought a pair of deflapper bars for half price in as new condition and made a new friend in the process.
So sorry Cindy cannot agree with the rationale
