In a months time I will be packed up and off to Qld to live with my son in Biggenden.
Very sad to be leaving Echuca behind and especially my little grandson and his parents here. I will be back for visits on a regular basis.
Am now in the middle of having a cleanout and lots of trips to the opshops. Then work out what I can fit in my van and a lovely friends trailer.
Boy its hard. Been here 8 years and loved it.

Good luck on your relocation. It's hard to move on from a place you enjoy, but that's life. Sometimes life decides what we have to do beyond our own plans. You'll be right.

Well Marj we all have to decide what is right for us and you have made that decision, you would have thought long and hard I imagine and now you can begin the next journey. GOOD LUCK.

So right guys, has taken a bit of getting used to the idea, not about being up there but about leaving down here. Things are things after all but your kids are your kids. She moves out as soon as she find a place to rent in Maryborough and then he is on his own and can't do it by himself. I'm looking forward to living in a large place with a huge back yard after living in a little one bed unit with a courtyard. Will be great to have a good sized garden to work in. I might even learn how to use the ride on mower. Its going to be a new learning curve for me at my age but these challenges keep us young don't they.

Best wishes for the move hope it all works out.

Just think about the trip to Greens Lake when you need a break, instead of going north you will be able to go south, who knows what is the right thing to do..........sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith, we are about to do that in the next 6 weeks, scarey but better than dying of boredom in front of the telly.
Cheers

Well, like TB - welcome in advance back to sunny Queensland, tho I know what you mean - I love Echuca - never lived there, but it just has that something about it.
You will be closer for some of us to come and visit, which will be a good thing. My oldest son is coming to live up here at the end of June (unless something drastic happens to change his mind) - looking to go working in the mines, buy a house here, with a granny flat for me - hope it all works out.
You are doing the right thing for you and for your son Marj, so soldier on with the clearing out and packing - and will see you soon!

Thats what I said to the kids. I will be doing my travelling in reverse. Coming back down here in the summer for my stay at Greens Lake and see the family. It really doesn't make much difference which end of the land I am in as I can still travel to the other, Myrtle and I.

Marj, will you be able to park Myrtle close enough to the house so that you don't have to walk so far...in the rain or otherwise...to pack and unpack her?

Yep, right beside the house under the carport. He's well set up there. There's a garage on the otherside where he keeps his Harley. Has two driveways. One for him and one for me. Upstairs/Downstairs. I will be renting downstairs but probably eat upstairs with son. 6 bedrooms, 3 up, 3 down. 2 bathrooms, 1 up, 1 down. We don't have to be under each others feet but at the same time I will become his carer.

Why would I go to WA wombat when my grandson and all the rellies live here in Victoria?? eh! Thanks everyone, amazing how quickly the table turns. One neighbour has bought my large chest of draws and other neighbours have already cleaned out the back courtyard of pots and potplants. I can hose that down now and know its all done. I will still be doing my trips around up there, just a bit shorter than originally planned.

Can't wait to visit Marj. You're going to be much closer, so we'll finally get to meet in a few months.
I'm still here 'till the end of May at least.
You'll be able to grow your own Comfrey there, plus other herbs. They grow well in that area.
Cheers,
Sheba.

The only complaint we have about WA is it has a very cheeky Wombat in residence. We do have better weather over here though.
