Hey Rocket - we have moved further south - firstly to a great spot called Herron Point, right on the estuary of the Murray River (WA), near Mandurah. Spent two lovely days there, met a guy we first ran into at Macrossen Park, near Charters Towers, had a great happy hour with him and another two couples - started about 10.30am finished about 6pm!!!!!!
Moved on from there to just near Busselton - a farm stay, 15k out of town, heaps of room (no facilities of course) $5 night, stay as long as you want.
There is a site called "Caravanovernightfarmstays" - online - join up, there are places all over Australia. Hows things with you guys?
Hot rods - ask Billeeeeeee about hot rods and my family, my brothers, their sons and my son, all into their hot cars and rods.

If it was me, I would love White Diamonds - as most women would - so reckon you are on the money there, Rocket.
We are staying at Walpole over here in WA at the moment. Today we went for a drive to The Valley of The Giants to do the Treetop Walk, a cantilever walkway right up near the tops of magnificent "tingle" trees - they are huuuuuuuuggggeeee! Some of the biggest ones have been burnt out - not sure how, lightning maybe, but no fires nearby, just burns the bottom inside out, leaving a "cave" - some of the caves are as big as a large tent - amazing.
Drove then to Denmark - about 50k east - lovely little town, went and had a look at the ocean beach - spectacular! On the way back we drove up to see the giant Tingle tree - it is immense - got some photos I will put up later.
Had a great day. Leaving tomorrow - destination unknown at this stage!

Staying at a property 12k out of town - great spot, and cheap.
Wow - that cake looks professionally made - she will be getting orders from her friends!

the cake is cut. It is gluten free n kids love it. They sat trying all the colours and deciding which colour tasted the best. Orange was the consensus. Took so long to make it is only a love job.

Thanks for the invite to chat. That is really nice. We are not travelling at present. Home getting ready for Christmas. Unfortunately had a funeral to go to today. Been very hot here in Melbourne. It made me wish we were away in the van - somewhere - anywhere. We can't get away until after Easter now.

Heard it was hot in Melbourne - bad fires down Devon Meadows way, near Cranbourne - hope you are not in a fire risk area Chicken. Lived in Melbourne most of my life, firstly in Sorrento (moved to Carins when I was 7 - 1954) moved down to Brisbane, for a while, then back to Melbourne, - Mordialloc, Somerville, Frankston.
Love travelling, we live on the road in motorhome, and love the life. Could never live in a house again. Will be with friends over here in WA at Christmas, looking forward to that.
Don't be shy - talk to us - join in the other sections of the forum - nobody on here bites!!!!
Thanks for your introduction Julis47. No fortunately we do not live in a fire danger area. It seems you have lived in some lovely areas. How long have you been on the road full time? We have been caravaning for over 20 years and travelled all over Australia seeing so many wonderful sights. We mainly travel through the winter but next year plan to go go into S.A. as this is the only state we have not ventured into a lot. Been to a lot of places in S.A. but not in too much depth, so looking forward to that.

Spent yesterday ringing around getting quotes to have the roof of my little short wheel base Toyota van raised. Turns out, it could cost around $6,000 which is more than I paid for the van. I'm 4'10" tall and can't quite stand up inside, just need a few inches of head room, and crawling around in such a small area is driving me nuts! Thought of cutting a hole in the roof to put my head through, that would work, but be a bit cold in winter .

Hi June - I, too, am 4'10" tall - (no not short - TALL) - I used to be able to stand up in the back of a Mitsubishi van - and I could stand upright in my Coromal caravan, with no shoes on. Try that - sometimes it is only a half inch or so that makes the difference - take your shoes off!

Gee Jules, if only it was that simple. I've owned several Kombivans over the years and no problems with them, loved the walk-through from the front seats, especially if it was raining. Had lots of room in them, long wheel base so plenty of room inside. Maybe over time I will shrink and then I will fit in more comfortably.

Shrink - I used to be 4'11-3/4" - one day my son went to put his arm around me, and said, where have you gone? Took me and measured me on "the door" (which has the whole family's heights over the years) - and I had shrunk to 4'10". So it could happen!!!!

Jules, u r just the right size.

No, don't live in it full time, have a home base here at Nerang, Gold Coast Qld. Family are scattered all over the map so call in to see them when on the road. Jules and I are most certainly the right size, we can do everything the bigger girls do and probably better (four children which include a set of twins!).
Today just taking it easy repacking the plastic containers that I have in the campervan and deciding what I want to take with me on my next trip. Always carry only the bare essentials anyway. June C.

June - where are you off to for your next trip? If you are heading to Victoria, why not call in and see some of the Grey Nomads at Greens Lake - 50k south of Echuca - great spot - large, free, flush toilets, water for washing etc., not drinking water though. Swim in the lake - the GN's are parked ot the right of the boat ramp, looking at the lake - a lot will be there till end of January at least I reckon.
Go the the Greens Lake forum on this site, there is a map, and a lot of photos, etc., you will enjoy them all - Dougwe, Glenelg, Yeoeleven, Happy Wanderer, and more.
