Hi radar, you will need a holiday to get over your holiday. Hamburg is a long way away.

My guess at least 1,000 meals. Going home got a free sample bag with books n a desert gift wrapped n insense n a $20 voucher to their restaurant n burleigh heads.
today we r going tto have a rest day and watch all the vans leave and come in. Life is good.

By the way your computer processed your message I think it got into the insense.
Good hear you are OK and had a good time.
Yes I need a break but life is taking over again with medical appointments and everything in between.
Remind us all what you are travelling in? So I know what to look for, please.

Love the Hare Krishna temple in Murwillimbah - and the food - we got there just in time for lunch - fantastic, and so much of it, and such lovely people. Have you been to the Buddhist one in Underwood, Brissy? Spectacular, but not as friendly, I didn't think, as the Hare Krishna.
Pouring rain - we are actually surrounded by water -well almost! Some have moved on, some are just sitting it out like us. AAAAHHHH the blissful sound of generators!

Our caravan 17' 6" Supreme Spirit (nickname The Pizza) no TV, no squabbles and bugger we are at home organising the next 2 months of medical dates.
We would like to update our 2008 caravan, may happen, may not. Been looking, know what we would like but not convince to spend yet.
Jules enjoy the rain we would like some in Brissey, not a fan of gennies.

Rocket - we won't have to evacuate - the water is up by about four feet - across the access road to theouter mines is 3.6m under water according to the level measurement post - and the small creek on the main road in is under water 2 or 3 feeet, but it will dry up this afternoon, we have sun and wind at the moment
Radar - daughter down at Kalbar says it is pouring in Peak Crossing at the moment 2.03pm 16.7 .16 - o you might get some rain yet!
Not keen on genies either, but needs must I figure, no-one is parked on top of another van, so noise is pretty spread out - no problem.

Light rain here in Brisbane while I relax taking things easy.
The weather at this time of the year is not the best for me! I have trouble getting motivated. I am like some animals, I should just hibernate to it warms up.

Not to bad a spot at this time of year, we spent some time there the other year along with about 60 vaners.
We also liked Theresa Dam near Clermont, like to go back, good memories.
We had about 10mm of rain overnight.
Went to movies with grand kids to see Ice Age, once again top movie.

We have BLUE SKY and sunshine!! The weir is still over the wall, but the creek that stopped us going to town, and the workers going to work, has cleared from the road now. That was a lot of rain we had.

We got away at 11.00 this morning and we are in NSW about 20 km North of the Ettamogah Pub. Got a bit of a diesel leak from injector rail, hopefully won't get any worse.
Planning on getting to within 100k of Sydney tomorrow. Needed a few stops for Eril's sciatica problem but going ok.

Spent the day driving to and from Bundaberg. Great to get out of Hervey Bay for something other than hospital visits. Went looking for a Mitre 10 only to find it had closed down a long time ago. The same as in Hervey Bay and Maryborough.
So had lunch at Grunksys and came home again stopping in Childers Bakery for afternoon tea on the way home.
So sick of myself stuck inside. I needed to get out enjoying the outdoors. Enjoyed the drive, so relaxing and wanted to keep going. Oh I wish.

We have friends here at the moment, so went to the $12 Senior lunch at the Mine Workers Club, great value - Wednesday's.
The crossing at Bedford Weir is still under water, possibly will be for months, according to locals who come down to fish, they and several campers are catching nice silver perch in the flood waters.

Always good to meet up with friends - and my brother and his wife are arriving tomorrow (probably) for a couple of days - be so good to see them.
The water at the weir is going down, had fish for dinner tonight, caught by a neighbour - delicious! Stuffed with herbs, sprinkled with salt and more herbs - into foil, and about 20mins in the BabyQ.
Love Twin Towns - great spot to see a show, saw John Williamson there few years back - seven rows from the front - excellent!

Hi All
This is the start of new week and we are caravanless yes, no caravan, first time in 16 years of towing a camper or caravan. After 3 weeks, 238 hits, 1 message on Gumtree we watched our caravan go up the road, so very sad it has been a top experience, about 50000ks exploring the eastern sea board, 10 months of travel in 3 years since our retirement, countless weekends, just to get away in 4 years.
Now the fun begins with replacing our caravan, we, well I have 2 thought but that will not help in the end when it come to the final decision.
The next one will get used more as our oversea travel has ended, not to say we won't be going again as our son is still there and we will lke to see them but no excessive travel, just visit.

Wow - that is the end of that era Radar - now on to another adventure in a new van - some have told me it is the woman who ultimately what the interior of their new van will be like - the men really have no say in it, so you are not alone.
Have had a great weekend, lots of time with my daughter, and some friends came over to camp with us at Boonah Showgrounds for the weekend. Another friend came to visit for a while as well. Had to laugh at my grandsons - they are all into body building, got so tall, all much taller than me now - can't believe how time has flown - the oldest is 22 and about to spread his wings and move to Melbourne (reversing his mothers move, also at 22 - she moved from Melbourne to Queensland) - he has a job, somewhere to live, and a lot of family and friends down there. The next one is 18 - has car and a job - working at a crayfish farm, and having a great life. The twins are almost 17 - leaving school at the end of this year - Yr 12 - one has a career in mind, and has set that in motion, the other - well who knows - he will decide when he is ready. Great kids.
Sorry to ramble - was just on my mind, and thought I would share it.

Sorry Jules, I just saw your recent comment. I got away the next day and am working my way slowly up the west coast. I had a rough plan but have changed it quite a bit. atm I'm in Carnarvon for 2 nights and will drive out to Quobba today. I'd like to stay there but a bit cautious of the road condition, so a day trip will do this time. Tomorrow I'm looking to freecamp for 1 or 2 nights into Tom Price. My concerns about travelling alone weren't necessary as there's been plenty of company, help and advice along the way. I could really get to like this a lot! Thanks for your interest in my trip. I'll put the next update on the solo nomad site.

The road out to Quobba is fine - staying at the campground or the station? We loved it there - the blowholes are fantastic - better than Kiama in NSW. It was $11 pp pn at the Point - not sure about the station, we stayed three nights - saw a reef shark, right close into shore, - Mark the Shark - he did a somersault, and then turned around and did another one - did we have a camera - of course not! Some other campers gave us some garfish and some other fish to eat - delicious in light batter, shallow fried, I even made chips from canned spuds, cut them in half, and fry in the same pan as the chips, make sure they are dry before you put them in the pan though.
Have you seen about the Get Together on this forum? it is at Seabird, which is south of you, but hey - what else have you got to do - last weekend in September - the Get Together section is lower down the forum list - Sufil are great hosts - guaranteed to have a great time!!!
