Welcome to the forum Garry & Grace. Greg & I too are taking off next year, hopefully after August. We are selling up and purchasing a towing rig & van and travelling full time. But as others here on the forum say making the decision is important so you will need to think it through, what is best for you.
We have travelled before for a year and loved it! So we know basically what we are in for. You probably should do same if you can to see if you can cope being together 24/7 and living in confined conditions etc. Believe me its a great life- we are counting down the days to our retirement. (235 actually)
Stay in touch with all here regularly and any question, just post it, we will all do the best to assist you. Cheers for now Dawn

Rolly wants a cracker, too, but the crackers take one look at him and say that they have grandfathers of their own.
Sorry Rolly I didn't see this the first time round. Stanby, we have an abudance of crackers here most of them gluten free!

The gluten's no problem Sir Terro, but I like my 'crackers' with as little fat as possible.

Hi and welcome to you.
Once you've decided on your rig and travel method, and have a sort of travel plan, it will be easier for you to decide whether to keep or sell the house you have now.
If you're on the road for a year or 2 you will find you need less space to live in, you will have less household items to stow when you stop travelling. Then of course there's always the house, garden, lawn etc to maintain.
You could sell your current property and invest the money so it keeps safe and maybe even grows, if you can travel without dipping into it.
When you stop travelling you can then buy a suitable unit or similar to live in. By then you will be older and need less, your rig may be too big, so you could replace it with something smaller and more compact.
There are so many options.
I don't have, and am not interested in real estate and furniture. All my wordly goods are in the van and land cruiser. I did a sort of costing, but I made up my mind how much I could spend. I am in van parks all the time at this stage, especially while I'm living in Cairns.
It's all your decision from here on in. Analyse it all for your needs. Good luck.
