Australian writer Peter Watt has got about 8 books out and he is from Queensland and writes mainly about how Queensland was first explored and how people came to go there, with the gold mines and such. I highly recommend his books, but make sure you read them in order. I found his books at a market 2nd hand and from there bought the newer ones.

Gee Joebee
You would feel kinda funny carting your PC across to the dunny when nature calls, I need a book when I sit and contemplate. Could get awkward sitting there with your laptop
