I should of said FF, I reakon I will be on the road by the time Diesel hits $1.60
Too late Jack!!! Have paid up to $1.88 for diesel along the Stuart Highway, getting a bit better as we get closer to Darwin.
Where can you get it for less than $1.60?

Hey Jack, just thought I'd show everyone the picture of your flight.
Hi Gubby - Picture is great - looks like the ball weight is about right - might have been tempted to use WDH, just to assist with landing & those vicious cross winds.....lol lol

Thanks Vic, yeah mate, I'm well on the way, the TUG is actually registered now, its been sitting in the shed for more than a month waiting for me to extract the finger, but she's out rolling around now & goes like SCALDED CAT ! I better get the van hooked up to her soon to at least give the local constabulary half a chance at catching me

Welcome back, Jack.
How is the L/C coming along.
We have a spare laptop that you can have, I just spent a few bucks on getting fixed up for SWMBO and when we got it back, she decided that she liked my spare laptop better.
If it will help you out I can find out what it would cost to freight it to you.
Dusty
Hi Dusty,
Wow, thats such a lovely offer. Mate at this time I will just swing loose a bit, this notebook touch wood has worked long enuf on the last 3 times Ive connected, sometimes you can get a couple of hours out of it before the screen goes white. I desperately need a new one BUT don't have much spare time at the moment, so it will do me fine for a couple of more weeks until I get the time to shop for a new one.
I was even considering a NET BOOK to tie me over in the mean time & then I got down to the PC Man and decided there was too many options, all very cheap really, so I didnt buy - I will save the $$$$ for a good notebook.
You guys & gals on this forum ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD! Seriously, what lovely people helping each other out, I look forward to getting mobile & assisting other people here when I can.
Thanks all the same Dusty

WOW, shes definately getting up there in price.
I'm presently in the BIG SMOKE, gold Coast area and its still hovering around $1.50 odd give or take a few.
Got my new tank fitted the other day & raced down to fill them both up from empty. I was just at one of those regular pumps for diesel & the rear tank seemed to take forever to fill, I kept looking on the ground under the truck thinking there must be a hole somewhere.
All up I took 270 litres on board, which I thought was pretty cool, until I got the cash register to pay for it
I don't plan to run around full all the time, just when needed but thought I might test her out

Hey Jack, great to have you back - I missed you too! No trips planned for at least a month - I took Esmeralda to get a "makeover" today where I caught the awning in a tree on my return from the shake down trip. Also someone has side swiped her when I wasn't around - looks like a small job to me but am a bit scared after taking her to get fixed. Two insurance claims and two lots of $200 - oh well she will be as good as new when all is finished.

Thats a low act Esmerald, scraping ur van and not fessing up to it, blooooodie low people around.
As for knocking things out with the side of the van, I'm not too worried about those sort of things, I normally knock them down with the tug first
