Guru
You little ripper, I am so glad you went. I wasnt there today. But will probably go in next week to volunteer. Its great isnt it// hehe I love the 6 for $3 my containers for our big trip are filling up, remember they have another shop at hillcrest 3/20 central court hillcrest. Did you get any sultanas? I made a huge sultana cake the other day for our vet and Howard delivered it, he was kind to us with a wee (tiny) girl dog which we got from Tennant Creek from a community camp (otherwise it would have gone to God) anyway she was jumped on by a big dog, the vet checked her over free of charge.
I think I am going to enjoy this forum where we can all help each other out.

Can't believe they're calling Lawnton part of Brisbane now. Its about a 2 minute drive south of Caboolture, just over the River.
About halfway to Brisbane from where I grew up, at Glasshouse Mountains. Brisbane is about 50 miles [ don't know what that is in K's] south.
World is sure changing fast.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Sure is Sheba.
When I was a kid my Dad was a travelling salesman, covering SEQ. He used to say to people that one day Brisbane and the Gold Coast would be joined up. Everyone laughed at him, told him he was mad. He was right! Within his lifetime it did just that!

Yes Marj, it's quite a way up the northside. About an hour from here. In fact, I don't know that it's part of Brisbane. Maybe Pine Rivers or North Pine.
Google maps doesn't show borders.

Lawnton is actually on the old Bruce Highway. You go through it, then a minute or so later, cross the bridge over the Caboolture River, and go up the hill into the CBD of Caboolture. [ Piece of useless info. Caboolture means Carpet Snake.]
Don't know if you can access it from the new Highway now.
Would you believe people commute to Brisbane every day from Nambour these days ?
Cheers,
Sheba.

I'm with you in that one - I can be right next to someone eating it, and will be fine, but once I start, I am a goner!

You're right Goinsoon. Morayfield is closer to Caboolture. Gympie Road was the highway before the Gateway Motorway was built. It's now called Old Gympie Road, and it runs through Strathpine, Lawnton and Petrie, and then on through Kalangur. And the river it crosses is the Pine River.
Morayfield and Caboolture are further north.
Sorry to correct you Gayle.

Really sorry guys, you're right. Must be 40 odd years since I've been down the old road. Definitely need that Brain Transplant. Can't believe I did that.
In that case, then Lawnton probably is part of Brisbane now.
Glad you corrected me.
Cheers,
Sheba.
