I have a cordless mouse I bought from Aldi some time ago, but my laptop wouldn't make friends with it, so it's just sitting here, not being used. Is there a way to force it to make friends?
you could feed it some cheese and tell it the computer gave it to him/her
do you have a disk that came with the mouse?
what system are you running xp vista win7.
Do you know the make of the mouse? ie brand name (not Aldi)

I've spent the last 45 minutes trying to connect it again. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I think I'll just give up again. Just use the plug in.
By the way Wombat, are you sure they fixed your eyes? They look a bit crook to me!

Beth have you turned on bluetooth in Win 7?
Is this a wired or wireless mouse? ok just reread your post so it's a optical cordless mouse is that correct?
Does the mouse have a little remote dongle that plugs into a USB post?
If not unplug the mouse and turn on bluetooth the plug mouse in.
Never heard of that make.
just fireing up a Win 7 system to have a look on how to do that.
I'm keeping both eyes out

My plug in mouse is a Logitech. Aldi never has brands that anyone has ever heard of, but in general, anything they sell is good quality.
No it doesn't have a plug in. Yes, optical bluetooth mouse. The laptop has bluetooth and it's turned on...it picked up my mobile phone in the next room, but not the mouse.
I've found in the past that Windows is fussy about brands, so maybe that's it..it just doesn't recognise the brand. I suspect there should be a way to override it, but it may need someone more knowledgeable than me.

Click on Start (bottom left) and select Help and Support then type in connect bluetooth mouse and follow the instructions.
Let me know how you go with that
