Isn't that called a flux "capacitator" I've seen it referred to as such!

I vaguely recall coming across that term sometime early in my studies many years ago, was it a device to sweep a band of frequencies using a variable capacitor attached to a small motor?

I vaguely recall coming across that term sometime early in my studies many years ago, was it a device to sweep a band of frequencies using a variable capacitor attached to a small motor?
