Second question... what do you like to eat tomato sauce on? (My answer... scrambled eggs)
Prefer BBQ sauce but only eat tomato sauce on meat fritters.
Also use it in some recipes

Once you open tomato sauce or all sauces they should be keep in fridge as the go off and very quick in the hot weather .There was case of food posioning some years back in a roadhouse that was traced back to a bottle of tomoto sauce left sitting for days ...

I used to love tomato sauce on eggs, but not any more - don't like it on anything really - but my friend has worcestershire sauce (he calls it black sauce) on EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! - Tomato and ham sandwich - black sauce - goes in all his cooking - on poached eggs, scrambled eggs - you name it - black sauce!

.. always in the cupboard .. it never lasts long enough to go "off" ..
and about worcestershire sauce .. my F.I.L. still drowns everything with it !
At 94 he's proud that he can still eat anything, but does state that he is losing his sense of taste !
He puts it down to his age .. hehe ..

Yes Pauline, my dad called it hot sauce or black sauce.
My nephew in law used to like a Baileys and milk before bed, and his little girls used to call Baileys "Daddy's milk sauce".

As well as 'pass the dead horse' (Worcestershire sauce), what about the sweet mustard pickles that improved many a bland and predictable meal to make it palatable? As a child I remember seeing large Rosella bottles on the table at a road gang camp - to go with the corned beef and damper. 'Three Threes' was another brand and they had plenty of vinegar in them to keep.

Chips is about the only thing I have tomato sauce on, I prefer BBQ, but I don't like either cold...............
Sauce on chips is one of my pet HATES, just disgusting. We used to live in Holland and they have mayonaisse (frites saus) on chips, the best chips in the world.
They also put a cheese sauce over chip's, now I want to go back there again

The commercial tomato sauce of today has much reduced levels of salt and preservatives compared to that which was available in our youth, so once opened we store in the fridge.
Only use on Snags, Hamburgers, Hot dogs/Frankfurts, meat pies and sometimes just a smidgin on a not so good steak.
I shudder when I see people put tomato sauce on fish.

I don't mind it.................as long as it doesn't burn your mouth, just like food with a bit of bite to it.

I don't eat much tomato sauce at all, as said before I disgustingly put it on chips, but forgot I do put the nozzle in a pie also as GS does............but that's about it.

When I lived in SA I kept the sauce in the cupboard, but when I lived in the tropics it went in the fridge. 3 reasons: preserve, keep the ants out and stop the mould. Yes, the ants do get in.
