My daughter had a similar problem with her laptop, they changed the video card under warranty and not had a problem since.

ps: If needed I also have the Windows operating system on it that I can boot into instead of the Mac one which comes in handy if someone who isn't Mac literate wants to use my computer.
Just don'd download a program called MacDefender, it's a trojan horse virus.
Actually I'm pretty sure Macs are manufactured in China as well these days. America just can't compete with the labour costs for this type of equipment.
