A few years back I was travelling convoy with some friends who have a Discovery and we pulled into a servo. They left the keys in the ignition and while in the middle of filling up the Disco decided to lock itself! The RACV guy came and it took quite a while for him to get in. He said that this happens from time to time with Discos. Guess where their spare keys were! Yep! that's right, in the car too!

I'm in Secure Sentinel (http://www.securesentinel.com.au/) and have a tag attached to my key ring. If someone finds them all they need do is post them to the address on the tag (reply paid) and they will follow up. If handed in to a Police Station they would be able to identify them and follow up too.

Vic, I always carry a tennis ball around with me, but it does make for a bulge in my trouser pocket.

No worries Peter, a bit hard with some models now that don't have door keys at all, only a transponder.
See this link for methods of gaining entry to locked cars, this tennis ball one seems interesting, be ok for home but not too many would carry a tennis ball around with them, click on;
What a load of crap. There is NO WAY that can work. I dont think! must try it one day just for the hell of it.

Tennis Ball? You poor man, how painful that must be! I had tennis elbow once and that was bad enough!

Yes we do have a pouch, but it's opening is towards the back so we do not fill it with dirt when digging.
Now you have learnt something today so you can go back to bed

Thanks Womby, you're all heart as usual......
Peter, I wondered about the tennis ball myself, there is a lot of air space inside a door and I couldn't see a tennis ball having enough pressure to displace that unless it is confined to the key space somehow.
You said you will try it sometime, so let's know how you got on with it and whether it is crap or not..
