It is with shock I have just found out Elle has passed away from cancer. I am not sure if anyone else here knows this.
She had privately told me she was suffering an aggressive form of lung cancer and was going through chemo and radiation.
I hadn't heard anything for a while. Until today on another forum it was announced she passed away on Easter Monday. RIP Elle
In times of grief it is pleasing that members of the ABB and the G/N's come together to remember an old mate.Rest In Peace Elle.Thank you.Ibbo.

I am....like everyone else here....deeply shocked by Elle's death!
I knew that her health wasn't good but she was so positive that I had no idea that things were so bad.
Although we never met, I was certain that she was someone I would really like.

It's an eerie feeling to have this friendship connection with folks through the forums, yet we don't know the deeper side of most of us. We know them, and yet we don't. Stay strong fellow GN's.

RIP Elle. My condolences to her family too.
Not a lot of people did Beth, Elle didn't say anything on this forum throughout her treatment.
If it wasn't for being a member of the OzNomad forum I wouldn't have known either. Elle was very open about it all over there giving regular updates as she went through her treatment and also with private messages to me and others.
She was really going through a very tough time, my heart went out to her then. I feel so sad.
As others have said, One never knows, get out there and enjoy your life.

This is so sad. I, I'm sure, with many others I didn't know what she was going through.
I always found her posts full of good advice and good humour. That she bore everything so stoically says a lot for the lady.
It is sad that many of us, not knowing of her condition, couldn't provide what words (or otherwise) of support that we could.
Whilst I don't always agree with everything on this forum, I still believe that we have somewhat of a familial thread running throughtout our membership. Most of us don't wish to burden others with our tough times but this is a forum for support and I would urge others not to bear those times by yourself.
R.I.P. Elle

I was deeply saddened when Jo phoned me to give me the bad news, I have not had internet access for a few days and missed all these sympathetic posts.
Of all the the members on this forum i would have spent the most time with Ellen she invited me to stay on her farm with the backpackers, we went out together many times running the dogs on the beach and doing farm business. Her attitude was always positive and an example for all. I miss her, we always planned to meet up when I got across to the east coast but now alas that can't happen.
