Would be great if all the Wombat talk could be kept in I Digress
Blocked would be better.
Agree, not so funny after the first hundred posts.

Being relative newbies we do try to post in the correct place but sometimes we may get it wrong...but we'll persevere.
Like Hako, we scan all the forums except singles and medical as there are some great pearls of wisdom and interesting info and we never know what we'll find on this terrific forum. A bit like Forest Gump: Life is like a box of chocolates......
Hi Kate and Steve, there a some interesting subjects on solo's and medical, and the travelling solo's often have valuable feedback on different areas to camp etc, so well worth reading also....

People would benefit by checking out the Solo section especially - some of our best posters are on there - Yeoeleven for instance, who posts beautiful photos and great descriptions of some of the amazing places he camps - check out his current one on Saunders Beach - near Townsville!

Gday...
Yeah ... party-pooper me has the same opinion.
Often a thread becomes a "chat room" and off topic, and I too lose interest and unsubscribe from the thread. This is especially so when I am 'camping' and running on batteries of a night and getting 40 email advices and then wading through the 'chat' just wastes my laptop battery.
I know when I sometimes 're-visit' the thread, I find there ultimately was a response to the OP query that was informative.
This is not always - but still fairly often.
Perhaps I am just getting grumpy as I get older but if people need to chat "off topic" start a new thread in I Digress or PM each other.
Cheers - John

Thank you Rocky. I, and I suspect, many others forget about those who are using up their battery-power, and downloads are slow where there's a weak signal.

Not to sure how I came into this thread as I haven't even made a comment here. I wasn't even going to make a comment here.
I'm not to sure what your problem is and you will know who you are,
YOU ARE ALIVE and in a great country with a great playground, just get out in it and enjoy instead of worrying about such petty things. You also have the honour of being allowed on and use a great Forum.

I agree totally and apologise to all for my participation in the verbal ping pong.
I will now go and sit in my corner in "I digress", genuinely sorry folks...

Too true rockylizard. When I'm in a house I will have the computer on for hours as I can recharge easily but when in travel mode my check ins are very quick as I'm conscious of not using too much battery.
I will quickly browse over the headings tosee what's worth looking into.

Thanks everyone for your input. It does help with navigation and searches if members try to post in the section that best fits the subject matter. It also helps visitors who are looking for specific things, whether it be general information, jokes, rig photos etc to find - and enjoy - what they want. However, I understand that there are grey areas and hope that everyone can be flexible when they read others' threads. It is not an exact science ... and ultimately the most important thing is that we all find what we are looking for and enjoy the forum. I'll try to keep things in the right place as best I can, but I am hoping that this can be fairly self-regulating. Fingers crossed! Please let me know if you have any concerns about strings appearing in the wrong section. Thanks for your understanding everybody.
We already have one webmaster/moderator on the forum and don't need another, If you have concerns follow Cindy's instructions;

Thanks everybody. I think it's probably time to shut this thread down now. Clearly, there are strong views on this issue. Can I just ask again that everyone try to post on the most appropriate section for what they want to say. Having said that, I understand that 'section choosing' is not an exact science and sometimes it is not easy to select the most suitable one. Most importantly of all though, I hope we can all keep the forum a friendly and enjoyable place for all.
