35kg isn't that heavy, not even as heavy as a bag of cement used to be in my day.
I'm near on 70 and can still pick two 40kg bags up at a time.

Hi all
I am new to this forum.
I have a heavy problem. I need to a way to lift my 3KVa generator onto the vehicle. I can do it at a struggle but am concerned that I might do in a rotator cuff or worse. All of the lifting aids available through "lifting specialists" are a frightening price. Anyone else had this problem?
Regards
Snala
Hi Snala, best of luck, I personally do not like generators mostly because they are noisy in the bush but I would like to help with a subjection.
A close friend though health issues has found lifting a spare wheel back onto the back door holding position very awkward, so after a bit of thinking and searching around the garage come up with a length of pipe attached to the roof rack bars where he fits a rope pulley system to. A couple of u bolts fixed in place on the racks, screws the pipes together, slides the pipe into the u bolts he has gantry, adds the cheap as rope pulley, wheel is back in the rack.
All this packs down to a neat bundle and stores under the seat. This arrangement is fitted to a single door 4 wheel drive.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Radar, sounds like a simple idea that might just work for the spare tyre as well. AT tyres are not light and I have been contemplating the task of lifting it into place if I get a puncture.

Thanks Tony Bev. Ikciv and I can lift it together but she has a degenerating back disorder so we need to be careful with lifting heavy weights.

I know it probably would not run your air con and microwave at the same time but if you were prepared to run them separately you may well find the Honda EU20i could do the job and only weighs 21 kg. a lot better to lift than your than your 35kg unit. Landy.
Or stay at caravan parks?
