No trolling, just trying to be humorous . fair play to ya
Hope your life isn't THAT short :)

Would it be ok to run an extension cord from the outlet of the inverter to the 240v input of the van. This would service the 240v outlets inside the van would it not. I would have thought it easy enough to plug appliances direct to the inverter but would what I have suggested work and be as safe as taking power from a pole in a park?

I must be getting a bit slow in my dotage.
I didn't see anything funny in the post or offensive in the perceived intentions of the OP.
I thought that post's title referred to the expected (usual) bun fight among the experts that accompanies such topics.
What I did find amusing was the indignant replies of some.
The question was well answered.
The OP is a long time, well respected and valued member. Certainly not a Troll.
Lighten up fellas.

The actions of the OP indeed fit the definition of those of a Troll.....check your dictionary.
Happy travels......Cheers.

yobarr, have a look at the number of posts that you have put forward, and those that Paul has put forward. We all know there is nothing funnier than a group of sparkies bumping chests with each other. Paul has suffered some dreadful injuries from a past accident, as have others here, and the forum is probably a place where he and others including myself can play, and have fun. So get off your high horse and join in!

Hi Ian....Common sense would dictate that someone who has been a member for well over four years would have put forward more posts than someone who joined only three months ago, would it not? My understanding of the purpose of the forum is to have members exchange information, and ideas, for the common good of all,so Im sorry, but I cant understand the sense in having good people, such as Mike Harding,go to the trouble of replying,in good faith,to what seemed a genuine question, only to find that it was simply someone trying to amuse themselves. It seems that I was not the only one with this opinion? I am sorry to hear that Paul has incurred dreadful injuries, but he is not alone. I also have had injuries, including a broken neck, brain injuries, and 70 stitches in my head,as well as loss of hearing in one ear,but I do not feel the need to post rubbish for my own amusement, and I certainly dont expect any sympathy. As for your comment that I should get off your high horse,I can only assume that I have found myself on said horse because I corrected your interpretation of the word Troll? Perhaps, while you are researching the meaning of the word Troll, you could also research the meaning of the term High horse, and then decide if it is appropriate?.I wish you only good luck and happiness for the future...safe travels. Cheers.

 Gotta get that on a T-Shirt. The humour was certainly there if you read the reactions from some of the "precious" members here.
Facebook is one of those places where you get all sorts of information requests from people who clearly would not have the required skills to perform the job. Sadly, there will be many replies from people with the same level of skill with advice on just how to do it with no clue regarding the dangerous situation they could be guiding those who read the suggestions.
Something posted on another thread, if you have to ask 'how to' on line you should not be messing with 240vac stuff and any advice given on line should be vetted by someone who does have the knowledge to give guidance regarding the safety side of that advice.
