Took my covers off my car seats today, have washed them and put on the line ready for van pick up tomorrow. They are purple and have bought a new purple sun shade for front window as well. Van is white and will be personalized in purple.
Looking for some good floral decal to go on the side as well. Found a nice one on ebay but will keep looking for now.

That sounds very pretty Marj. I have a red Lucy sticker on my back window, and I've ordered, and still waiting for, a red Gypsy sticker for my camper.

So excited my stomach in knots when I woke this morning, settled a bit now and ready to go. A neighbour is coming over to Shepparton with me to do a bit of shopping and pick the van up after lunch.

Just relax, stay calm, play it cool, don't look too eager, slink towards the new rig and then leap into the air with arms outstretched to celebrate your next stage of life.
Well done! Take it steady and just enjoy.

I have had my car 10 years since new. Never thought I would get rid of my little yellow bumblebee until she went no more and I was going to have to catch the bus.
It really is a big move and only being 3 years old should last me till I don't need a vehicle anymore.
Beth, where do you get the word stickers from. I want The Happywanderer in black writing across the top of my windscreen.

CG I can just picture that, slinking towards the van then leaping in the air. Would make a good advert for something, just not sure what. Haha

Picked up my van today, takes a long time with all the paper work. So hot and muggy over in Shepp, glad to get home as not well. Grandkids gave me a raw throat infection.
Drove like a dream, nice and smooth. Tomorrow will take some photos. Will put the car seat covers on and go get a locust net for the radiator area.
Locusts are hatching here again so warnings are out for a 2nd invasion.
Next step after that will be working out measurements to fit the bedding in and storage space.
Very pleased with myself.

Sorry to hear you're not well. Me either. I caught a cold from having Lucy's air con too cold, and now it's turned to Asthma.

CG I slunk towards the van then damn it forgot to leap up into the air.
I was just so glad to be heading home by that time, Had dosed myself up so much and drunk so much water to keep myself going in the muggy heat, just wanted to get home and find a cool place to hide for a while.

Sheba, I saw the sets of drawers in Chickenfeed today. A boxed set of 4 for 29.95..
Reject shop didn't have any.
Will get some next time I'm over in Shepp. Had too many other expenses today.

congrats Happywanderer
I had a look at one of those vans recently quite nice
good luck in your travels..
those stickers are usually vynal and are printed on a single sheet
then you stick them on your windows or what ever..
some of the local screen printers or those shops that do photo's on coffee cups etc might be able to do them,

Great looking van HW, I'm sure you will do a great job fitting it out to suit your needs, one question pic no 4 towards the rear of the van is a round hole of some kind, what is that for?
BTW I was not in Shep today

And I actually went back to pic 4 to check it out. Not sure what it is but I'm sure I will find out when the van suddenly stops on the side of hte road and won't go any further.
All these people in Shepp yesterday, what a shame we didn't do a hook up for coffee. I only got as far as Chemist Warehouse, Chickenfeed, Best and Less, The Reject shop, then took nearly 2 hours doing paper work at the car sales then straight home.

Oh, that could be where you put the fuel in.

Didn't go any of those places. Went Mall, Haris Scarfe, Bunnings, Supercheap and a soil place. Hubby was with me.

Thanks for enlightening me wombat, I would never have known.
Actually had to fuel up at Mooroopna on the way home, they only gave me quarter a tank , wasn't sure that was enough to get me home.
It would have been but better to be safe than sorry.
One thing I find strange. The fuel cap only opens with a key, No internal pull button like the hyundai had. Wouldn't that make it easier to steal fuel?

Pam, a completely different area to me. Don't have to go to bunnings over there anymore now we have our own. And Supercheap Auto.
I usually go up to the Marketplace Mall, just didn't have time yesterday. I like Donut King if I ever go up there.

Welcome to the world of a new/old car HW! I stood there with my key trying to open the fuel cap of my new Mazda, even looked in the book, and when found the directions to pull the little lever, felt a proper idiot!
Hope you are feeling better today?

Congrats on the new van it looks great, has it been fit out inside or are you having that done yourself?
Happywanderer said
10:03 AM Jan 8, 2011
I'm doing that myself gillyb. May take a bit of time but will just put in the basics.
Gert This is the other way around. The 1999 Hyundai had the pull lever in the car but this is 2007 and only has the key.
I would have thought the pull lever would be more modern.
It did take a while to get it to work as it spins around when fully locked. The salesman was very good and went over the van with me showing me how everything worked. Wouldn't let me go till I got the fuel key right. After 3 attempts i worked it out.

Congrats HW, keep us posted on the fitout.
Wombat, How do you do that? Shame my computer is a desk one, otherwise I would bring it down so you could show me how to do stuff.
Will get more when I take it out of the carpark and have more room.
